FATLOSS 3 reasons why tracking is essential! ACCOUNTABILITY - This is a huge factor in ensuring fatloss progress.Telling friends and family, utilising social media, writing your goals down on paper, hiring a coach or personal trainer and training with a friend are just some of the ways you can ensure that you are being accountable to the goal. FEEDBACK - Caliper readings, tape measurements, weight, progress pictures, energy levels, motivation to train and strength levels are some of the things i look into when gauging whether any changes need to be made or not with a client. MOTIVATION - losing body fat is not an easy task especially as you get leaner. Maintaining motivation is key. Dropping half a percent body fat or abs appearing a little leaner in a progress pic could provide massive incentives to keep you on the path. My mornings during the summer used to be sleeping in, getting up whenever I felt like it, going to the gym, and then going on about my day. Now? So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything remotely encouraging. Got back from vacation and fell off the wagon. I saw this today on Pinterest, and thought I had to post it. It spoke to me. 30 minutes, 4 times a week, at home? Ya, ok...I’m sure you’ll get the same results you’d get at the gym. I mean, how can you even work up a sweat in 30 minutes? Well, my answer is - easily! Look at me. 30 minutes, inside my very well air conditioned living room, with the ceiling fan running right above me, and I’m sweating. But isn’t it hard to get up and motivated from your living room, especially doing it alone? I’m not doing it alone! I have a whole community of women who do this with me every day. I have my boot camp groups that check in and keep ME going, even though it’s my job to push them through. The workouts can’t be THAT hard? This is me (goofy face included at no charge). This year I set out to lose some weight. I have struggled with my weight for a long time, and gave into the notion the dad bod was OK enough. Well long story short, losing my extra has become my big goal. In #theONEthing by #garykeller he talks about accountable vs victim. And how people who write their goals are 39.5 percent more likely to succeed, and that people who wrote their goals and sent progress reports to friends were 76.7 percent more likely to achieve them. Because when you always try and skip cardio and abs, it’s a good idea to enlist the help of others #accountability 😝. - Dragonfly negatives (I should be going lower) Leg raises + butt-up Leg pushes Barbell ab rollouts Med ball tosses - For the exercises holding ankles, make sure your partner is a very sturdy “base” 💪🏻. I find the dragonfly negatives are easier to do holding onto bars or a TRX. You don’t want to “crash” down and it’s fairly challenging so stick to leg raises first and make sure you’re very strong with those. You can add the reverse crunch/butt up portion but don’t kick your friend in the face, please 🙈. - Ensure your core is braced and your lower back stays on the floor at all times during the leg raises and pushes. You can bend your legs slightly to make it a little easier. - Ab rollouts are a super great exercise to perform for your core🔥. If you have a very strong core and would like a challenge, you can do them from standing. - Lastly, med ball tosses. I really prefer to do this on a decline bench with the other partner tossing the ball, but alas, it was occupied. If you have one and a partner handy, I’d do it that way. - That’s all I have to say.
