I stumbled upon a great post about carb cycling on a ketogenic diet. * Keto Cycling is Not Real Keto * The big mistake is using a cyclical ketogenic approach in which you eat with a keto ratio for 5-6 days a week, then have a pretty large carb intake on the other day(s) to replenish muscle glycogen. * Good examples of this approach include Dan Duchaines Body Opus and Mauro DiPasquales Anabolic Diet. Im not saying these approaches dont work. They can. * But theyre not truly ketogenic diets. Being in ketosis is very hard to maintain on this approach. * A large carb-up or cheat meal could decrease ketone production for 2-3 days (3-4 if you count the high-carb day itself) so you essentially spend each week trying to re-establish keto adaptation the first three days after the carb-up because on these three days you heavily rely on stored glycogen for fuel. * Then youll have the three days where you use more ketones for fuel and you carb-up on the last day. The issue? DAD BOD WOD🤷🏻‍♂️ - If any of the below fits you or someone you know😉 then this new little idea I have may just be what you or they need. - Do you have a Dad Bod? You don’t need to be a Dad to have a Dad Bod. - You embrace the Dad Bod but maybe you wouldn’t mind it being slightly less Dad Boddy? - Your Dad Bod hates the thought of going to the gym, CrossFit, fitness classes or anything like that where there’s those crazy people doing fitness. Or Dad Bod just doesn’t have the confidence to attend at the moment. - Dad Bod has long days at work. The last thing it wants to do when it gets in is get ready for the gym, drive to it, train, drive home, shower. It’s 9pm and you’ve missed the footy. - It definitely doesn’t want to get up at 6am to do it before work either. Dad Bod needs it’s beauty sleep. - Dad Bod has kids that it wants to spend time with after work and even if it did fancy joining the gym it can’t get childcare and class times just don’t fit around the Wifey’s schedule. - DB has been a member of a gym, our box, done classes etc and just never sticks it out. Making every excuse under the sun but deep down just can’t be bothered and loses motivation too easily. - What if there was a programme that Dad Bod could sign up to where he only needs to attend 1 night a week with other DBs and then gets sent short workouts to do at home that he could even get the kids and Mrs involved in?? - Next Monday 7.15pm at @crossfit_buxton I’ll be hosting a DBW meeting to tell you all about it. Great session on squat and core. Before hitting the squat session. I always make sure, i pre warm up so iam Not stiff. This is a great warm up to losen up all those tightness on your hamstring and hips. Session focusing on strenght, i try to control the tempo on the eccentric downward phase of the squat motion as you slowly lower your body during that phase. Then explode going up.
