I’ve often asked myself why did you wait so long? Fear... afraid I couldn’t do it, afraid I would give up, afraid I would quit, afraid I would waste my money, afraid it was a gimmick, afraid it wouldn’t work, afraid it was a scam, and afraid that this was just how my life was supposed to be. I literally just got comfortable being unhealthy, overweight, with sever sleep apnea, high cholesterol, borderline diabetic, morbidly obese, and severely depressed. Things. - 🦖If there’s been ‘cheat days’ or events here and there I don’t consider it a plateau. I like think of it as breaking even. I worked hard, and went out the celebrate so the ‘damage’ and ‘hard work’ broke even. - 🦖But there certainly have been times where I was doing everything right, and my weight just wouldn’t budge. - 🦖By definition if you’re not losing weight, then you’re not in a caloric deficit. - 🦖So how do you get past it? You gotta create a caloric deficit by either: - 🦖1) Eating less. Audit your everyday foods and cut another 100kcal, maintain it for a week and adjust from there. 🦖2) Moving more. #TransformationTuesday Six years ago today (and quite frankly many other times over the years,) I said what I wouldn’t give to be that weight again. 16 years old, probably around the first time I REALLY thought I was fat. I’ve been on a number of health kicks. I’ve prayed many years. I’d put in the effort. Change my diet. Then inevitably fall of track and gain back what I lost and then some. Fast forward to current day and here I am sitting about 40 pounds less than I was there. Dedicated to working out. Doing my best to keep my diet on track but constantly failing but remembering moderation. For the most part. Feeling the best I’ve ever been. Being in the best shape I’ve ever been. Doing things I never thought to do. Considering running a half marathon even though I swore I never would. The switch may flick on and off throughout your life but when it fully clicks, you never wanna go back. You never wanna feel the way you did before. Never want to struggle the way you did before. All I can think about now is playing with Dominick. I wanna run around with him. Go to the park with him. Play ball with him. And not have to worry about being winded or in pain or miserable. There’s always something to improve and work on. But I don’t want to lose sight of the whole picture and total transformation. I’m not done. By a long shot. But man, am I thankful, grateful and proud of how far I’ve come. Friday marks 18 months since surgery but this journey, it’s to infinity and beyond. So Meal Prep Monday turned into Meal Prep Tuesday this week. We were very busy and didn’t have time to prepare properly. . After talking with a few people and realizing I am seeing no progress (which is probably due to my cheating with food) I thought I would increase my calories. Myfitnesspal had me at 1280 calories a day if I wanted to lose 2lbs per week and I was way too hungry with that amount. I have lowered my weightloss to lose 1lb per week which leaves me at 1780 calories per day. I now have some wiggle room. Hopefully this helps me not cheat as much 🤞🏼 . Meal Prep: 1488 calories/day . Breakfast: Overnight Oats 301 cals . Lunch: Skinnytaste’s Chicken Taco Chili on Basmati Rice 350 cals . Snack: Boiled Egg, Banana, Almonds 382 cals . Para los que están acostumbrados a verme levantar este video probablemente les parezca una poronga, pero para mí es el reflejo de una, por más pequeña que sea, batalla mental. . Como muchos de los que me siguen saben, aproximadamente dos meses antes del nacional arranque con tendinitis en la rodilla izq. No le di mucha bola en su momento pensando que se iba a ir solo, y no se fue. Esto se manifestó en una merma de rendimiento en el nacional (el cual por suerte gané y también gané el mejor coeficiente) y dolores varios al entrenar, competir, y en la vida cotidiana. Estar sentado con la pierna flexionada era prácticamente imposible. . Luego del nacional, comencé a tratar dicha lesión. Magnetoterapia, MEP, ejercicios de movilidad, reposo de cargas, y de a poco agregar ejercicios isometricos y excéntricos. . Hace 20 días tuve un accidente en moto en el cual gran parte del impacto se lo llevo mi mano derecha. Maneje como pude hasta una guardia (no pude firmar mi entrada) y me hicieron placas y por suerte no se rompió nada oseo. Me dieron antiinflamatorios y reposo lo más posible en la mano. Bajo los efectos del antiinflamatorio podía realizar cosas como despegue o pull-ups, pero no podía apoyarme nada de peso en la mano. Ni hablar de hacer nada de press. Corte con los antiinflamatorios pero la mano seguía sin mejorar. El consejo del traumatologo era (y sigue siendo) reposo. Fue un impacto muy fuerte y debería agradecer no haberme quebrado) . Me tome toda la semana pasada de entrenar pesas, y ayer lunes me encuentro con que todavía duele mucho, y con el consejo de no hacer nada que duela. Me encontré en el box sin poder hacer la planificación, despegue dolía hasta con poco peso (ya que no estoy más con antiinflamatorios) y mi nivel de frustración estaba por las nubes. Acá es donde mi mente débil quiso largar todo a la mierda, largarse a llorar, agarrar las cosas e irse. Probablemente a mi casa a putear por no poder hacer una de las cosas que más amo que es entrenar, y por no tener una solución al problema más que descansar y esperar los tiempos del cuerpo. .
