During chest press with dumbbells, it’s important to keep your hands and arms stable when raising the weight so that the weight will be 100% effective on your pectorals. Make sure that your elbows lock when raising the weight so that the full contraction follows through and works more areas around your chest. This will help improve muscle growth by completing the full contraction. When lowering the weight make sure you bring it down to your chest where it’s nearly touching, so that your pectorals feel the strain and tear of the muscle fibres when lowering and then lifting once again. This creates more stress and tension which will rip more fibres allowing all areas on the chest to grow and work. Personally I do 3 sets of 8 reps which I think is the most effective way of completing this exercise.

There’s no need to pay out the ass for expensive gyms or programs. Woke up feeling so tired (as always lately, sleeping very light which is so annoying!) so was on the fence about going to the gym. I did go, waking my body up with a leg day and exploring new exercises! 🏋🏻‍♀️ •-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-• Tell me honestly: do you always take time to warm up and cool down properly? I’ll go first: I didn’t... Whenever being in a time crunch those were the first things I’d skip on. Transforming into the next step of my fitness journey my fysiotherapist and I created some 10-15 minutes warm ups and cool downs specifically for each day in the gym and based on Steph’s suggestion and my physical issues... And oh boy, have I become a believer in the importance of warming up and cooling down: better mobility, less pain, better form, less soreness! This 30 minute HIIT workout combines cardio and strength in a variety of time intervals. It starts off with 3 different circuits of 2 exercises, performed 2 times each for 40 second intervals.
