I was living my own little @hallmarkchannel Christmas movie tonight — hung out with my family at my hometown Christmas parade tonight. . 🤗7 sideflip variations and an a-twist. 🌪 Trying new things with better awareness, integrating mental rehearsing and physical programming strategies. - Mental rehearsal - being able to feel the movement before doing it, most of the time feeling the move in slow motion. The clearer I can get when to do what, the better my chances to land something new. - Physical programming - when I see on a recording that the general movement is executed correctly but I lack awareness in a body part, for example thinking I straightened my leg to the full extend but seeing that it was bent half way through the motion, then instead of rehearsing it mentally I will practice 5 dry kicks at a similar take off angle to let my body feel what will happen. Often by default during the next motion the leg will be closer to where I want it to be. - I separate the two because to coordinate the timing mid-air, that is when to extend/kick/tuck/twist/open, I can’t physically run through the whole motion before doing it. So I it’s like I get an extra practice attempt for each attempt that I’m doing. - On the other hand if it is one form detail that I want to improve, the best way to feel how a tight leg feels like is to actually tighten the leg. Same thing for an open hip or a tighter tuck. - Is my sharing this helpful for what you practice? I am still learning to make my Healthy Low budget meals to look and taste yummy.😋😋 Today I made Chilli Tin Fish cakes and creamy mash potatoes with African beans Chakalala and beetroot chips. I used African beans because they dont have sugar like the tin beans normally used for Chakalala. Replace creamy mash potatoes with cauliflower rice. Replace Tin Fish with Hake Fish African beans are mixed with green peppers, carrots, onions and turmeric. I eat the meal after my workout. Chaturanga Dandasana (4 limbed staff pose) is a primary transition in many yoga classes. I wish I could express to you the feeling I get every time I finish a team call on Monday nights. Happy Monday loves! . Have you ever felt obligated to diet because you know all of your favorite fall dishes and sweets will be waiting for you Thanksgiving Day? . In the past, every holiday would cause me to feel the need to do extra cardio, or diet a little more. Because of this I always ended up binge eating and getting so full I’d feel sick 😏! . Because of this, I just want to remind you to not spend the week in excessive restriction to make up for Thanksgiving Day! . Having a diet full of restriction actually increases your chances of binge eating, which will essentially defeat the purpose of “dieting” all week. . Remember to keep a balanced diet, drink at least 2-3L of water each day, and you will be ok! . One of the things I love helping my clients with is feeling confident in their food choices, feeling guilt free after the holiday (or any special event), and establishing a balanced diet . Think about your fitness journey as climbing up a ladder . Each step gets you closer to the top... to your goal . If start skipping steps, eventually you’ll lose your footing and tumble to the bottom to start all over again . Friends- don’t skip steps. There are no “teas” or “wraps” or pills that will get you there quicker. Those products are just missed steps on the ladder..theyre a short term bandaid. . Get off of Pinterest with all the “7minute workout to blast belly fat” junk . learn to embrace the journey- embrace EVERY step on the ladder, put in the work required and be proud of your efforts

Got in my workout this morning. As the holidays come closer it’s easier to let your health fall to the bottom of priorities. Make appointments with yourself or a gym buddy to get in workouts, be conscious of what foods you are buying to eat regularly (one off holiday meals should be enjoyed though) and keep yourself a priority. We only get one body, make sure to take care of it 🤗

My dog taught me a lesson today Hear me out.. there’s a point to this story that’s not just about my dog ;) - It was pouring rain in North Carolina this morning, and Torq being his normal dog self, decided that he was going to trot through the biggest puddle of mud in our back yard. Naturally my first response would be anger, but I wasn’t mad at all. I was happy to see him having fun and I kind of expected it. When he started to head back for the door to come inside, I got down on my hands and knees to wipe his paws and clean him up, and invite him back into a safe home with a comfy bed. - And it got me thinking.. This is how Jesus sees us. He knows we are going to mess up and jump in the mud, whether it’s on purpose or not. And yet, He still took up a posture of humility and continues to wash our feet and usher us back into Loving Arms. I don’t know about you, but that’s a place where I want to belong. A place where despite my muddy feet, I’m still welcomed and surrounded. I hope you feel that way today. And if you’ve had a bad experience with religion before, I get it. Religion isn’t Jesus though. Jesus is Jesus. And that’s love. Our mess-ups are God’s set ups. So don’t shrink low and run away because you’re messy. Let Him wash your feet. - Today’s a great day to have an attitude of gratitude. 🤤 How tasty do these look INGREDIENTS SLAW • 2 cups thinly sliced red cabbage 220g • 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 45 mL • 1 lime juiced • 1 tsp honey • ¼ tsp salt CAULI-FILLING • 2.5 cups cauliflower 312 g, chopped • 1 15-oz can chickpeas 425g, strained and patted slightly dry • 2 Tbsp olive oil 30 mL • 1 Tbsp chili powder • 2 tsp paprika • ½ tsp salt • ¼ tsp cumin SAUCE • 1 ripe avocado • 1 clove garlic minced •¼ cup good olive oil 60 mL • Juice of ½ lime • 2 Tbsp chopped parsley • Salt and pepper to taste TO SERVE • 8 tortillas INSTRUCTIONS Combine all of the Slaw ingredients in a non-metal bowl and set aside. Stir every once in a while. Gently combine all of the Cauli-Filling ingredients. Lay onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees F (204 C) for 30 minutes, or until slightly browned and crisp. While filling bakes, combine all Sauce ingredients in a food processor until smooth. To serve, spoon Cauli-Filling evenly onto 8 tortillas. Top with a heaping spoonful of slaw and avocado sauce. SETBACKS 🤔 sometimes things come along and set us back. Sometimes you will be strutting along your path only to miss your step and fall off. But then you have options; get back up onto that path of yours, or decide to take a different route all together🤷🏽‍♀️ but the bit we forget is; when you fall there will be scratches and bruises and you might not be able to strut down that new path straight away, you might hobble a bit... and yeah, it ain’t a classy look 100% of the time but it still gets you where you need to be right? I guess my point is, I’m realising it’s okay not to have your shit together al the time, and it’s okay to need a minute to dust yourself off. Turns out we don’t have to beat ourselves up for every imperfect step & equally we can recognise that the people around us who aren’t walking perfectly are maybe just getting their strength back too 💭

If you never try, you’ll never know. . . That’s soooo true for today’s treadmill run! I thought it was a fat chance that Rhett was going to go sleep in his bed after falling asleep in the car for five minutes, but he passed right back out. THEN Tucker was asleep in his car seat right as we were pulling in the driveway, too, so I thought maaaaaaybe he’ll stay asleep. But as I was getting him out of the car— BOOM! Wide eyes staring at me. So as quickly as I possibly could, I threw on my tennis shoes, changed sports bras, put him next to the treadmill and started it. He fussed for 3.5 seconds, then the noise of the TM pulled him into a state of hypnosis, and I cruised 🏃🏼‍♀️I ramped up slightly at first, then pushed it to the end of the 5k mark, and cooled down at 6.0 mph til 4 miles. Praise Jesus, y’all!
