The first time I did one of these programs at home I almost threw up 🤢.....like head over the toilet, heaving, shaking....all of it. I chose the hardest program I could find (maybe that was my first mistake lol) but I pushed threw it. ALL of it. And then I got up the next day and pressed play again (with a few more modifications of course) 🤣 I wasnt about to give up on myself just because it was hard. There will ALWAYS be times that we get uncomfortable, we get tired and life gets the best of us. But as long as we keep going, keep pushing through the hard, keep showing up and keep believing in ourselves....thats when the true magic happens. This time of year I look back and remember the joy I felt when around people celebrating this time of year. This picture reminds me of a time that I enjoyed other’s company, but when I was on my way to this party where the photo was taken, I remember the struggle to find a shirt to wear and having to go buy the next size up. I had to Buy an extra large and even THAT was tight on me. _ • • That was a low for me,To realize that nothing fit me anymore, and I stayed in that low for another 6-8 months. _ • • I made a #HUGE change in my #lifestyle that next year. This is when I learned about healthier foods, Whole Foods, foods that would fuel my body instead of making my body sluggish. Imagine my surprise when I learned that there were foods that are good to eat ALOT of and it’s OK! 🙌🏻😋_ • • Opening my eyes to this lifestyle change, quite literally changed my life #forever. I will never be that girl in the picture on the left again. I will never allow myself to feel that way again ...like I couldn’t leave the house in anything but sweats and yoga pants because that’s all that fit and feel so ashamed of myself. _ • • The best advice I can give anyone is that you have to #OWNyourlife. You have to be willing to take care of yourself in the right ways. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get up and go. After I lost my mom, grandfather and had Wyatt all within six months, I was a mess. I don’t even remember what happened in 2015, I was basically on autopilot. I distinctly remember on New Years Eve of that year, I told myself that I had to get over my bullshit and make a change. I could no longer feel sorry for myself, I had to make an effort every day to be a better mom, wife and friend. Looking back, the moment changed everything for me. I went from watching life happen to me to making it happen for me. . You are always in control of how you feel and how to take control of those feelings. Maybe it’s time for you to get over your bullshit and make a plan to be better.

Good morning all! Since Christmas vacation has started for me already, I made a conscious decision to have a treat meal last night and enjoy some gluten free Barbeque Chicken Pizza. Many of you know that I follow a keto (and sometimes cyclical keto) macro split because thats what works best for my body. You also may know from previous posts that I tend to be able to slip into ketosis rather quickly. This mornings blood ketones and glucose prove it. (pictures of this mornings readings after eating non keto pizza last night) However, what I am discovering is that just because my blood ketones and glucose levels are good, does not mean I should partake of certain treats. As a result of last nights indulgence, I woke up with brain fog, inflammation, bloating, and some mild intestinal discomfort. Sure, in a day or two the scale will be back to normal from the water retention, but Im trying to find what foods best fuel my body for optimal health...not JUST what gives me the physique I want. And you know what? The pizza wasnt even that great! If Im going to indulge in something, I at least want it to be worth it! I will continue to experiment and see which foods make me feel the best in order to be the healthiest I can at 47 and post my results. 😉 Hopefully my experiments will be helpful to some of you. This morning I’m thankful for slow mornings, my preworkout, yummy smelling candles, my prenatal workouts, and being able to workout and run my coaching business from home. 💪🏼⚡️Where would I be if I didn’t say “YES, I CAN” a year ago? 🤷🏼‍♀️

My kids spend close to 20% of their waking hours at mealtime. WHY does it have to take them so long to eat such a little bit of food?! Why have they yet to realize if they eat they get more fun time?! This morning I decided to make it easy on myself and blend up a shake and serve a big bowl of fruit, too. It already has a serving of fruit AND veggies but I added a banana and spinach for good measure! The craft was more fun so they finished drinks on the way to school, but at least they got play time which they always ask for but we never have the time and this mama got prettied up for school party!

⭐️ Progress Report ⭐️ Between May 2012 to February 2017 (4 years and 9 months) I used every excuse in the book. I was the person who justified eating anything and everything I wanted during both of my pregnancies, because obviously the baby needed it. My swollen feet provided the perfect excuse to sit around and do nothing. But once my body was no longer being used to grow or nourish tiny humans, I didn’t even recognize it. I am also the type of person who has to work towards something in order to stay motivated. So in February 2017 I signed up for my first Spartan race and started training. I completed my Trifecta in 2017 and 2018 and couldn’t be happier with the progress I’ve made. I have lots of training ahead of me as I focus on the Carolina Ultra in 2020!

I wasn’t feeling it this morning but because of my accountability group of ladies I got up and pressed play today with #shaunt #focus25 speed 2.0. Healthy 😊 & strong is the best look yet 💪🏻 💕 I saw a quote today on @thejordymethod that said we can train the same, eat the same, basically do almost everything the same.... and we would still all look 👀 different! Healthy looks different on everyone! It’s so easy to get caught up in this darn social media and start comparing our lives and feeling envy! The 1000s of conflicting messages on what you should do to loose weight, stay in shape, live your life, how you should look, and different ways to get that look.... well I can tell you one thing! You are beautifully you! Taking the step to live a healthy lifestyle is an amazing opportunity (and it’s never too late) to be stronger, faster, healthier, and also personally helped me confidence! Tried HIIT workout posted by @uzothegymaddict. 30 secs each exercise . 15-20secs rest in between and 3 sets is all I could manage. I’d worked out before starting, so my legs were burning 🥵. Out of all the photos from my maternity photoshoot, this will always be my favourite. Because it is also my favorite Squat variation throughout my pregnancy (I absolutely HATED both Back and Front Squats while I was pregnant!) 😆 This was taken at 30 weeks of pregnancy with my second son.
