🚨 Dealing with injury and diet 🚨 - Tearing my Achilles was not fun, let me tell you. But, diet becomes even more important when dealing with an injury because your workouts won’t be the same, your activity level will be lower and you want nutrient-rich foods to ensure a healthy immune system when healing. Plus, you want to ensure that you lose as little as possible with all that hard work you put in! - If you have an injury that only slightly limits you in the gym and you can still get quality workouts in, it’s probably safe to say that you can stick to the diet that is working for you without any major adjustments. - If you have an injury that limits your workouts, this is where it’s important to listen to your body. You may need to clean up your diet and lower your total calories/macros as you probably won’t be burning as many and activity levels are lower. - Major or minor injury, make sure to get lots of veggies and foods packed with nutrients. One thing that really helps me is my Opti-Green 50 supplement. You get 11+ servings of veggies along with a blend of superfoods, probiotics and digestive enzymes; all quality and beneficial things to have when healing. Leg day getting stale? Try this circle hydrant exercise. Start on all fours with your wrists directly below your shoulders and your knees below your hips. Place one weight behind your right knee. Keeping your abs tight and your spine long, lift your right leg toward the ceiling, then circle your knee out to the right, then down, and back up again. Your right foot should stay flexed, and make sure you squeeze your leg to keep the weight locked in place. Repeat the same motion on your left leg.
