When was the last time you sat down and in one sitting had 6 oranges, 4 bananas, 3 apples, and 2 kiwis? Probably never. Fruit juices (even 100% fresh squeezed no sugar added) pack a lot fruit per serving, which means a lot sugar in the form of fructose. 2. The juicing process often removes some fiber that fruits naturally have. Winner: whole fruit. But if you can’t or don’t want to eat whole fruit, then 100% natural fruit juice is certainly an option. Today was the best I felt in over a week! The pinch nerve in my back is gone and I am well rested. I took Sunday and Monday off which is just what my body ordered. Already 11 and I’m having my 2nd meal of the day!!!! I started a new 7week challenge with in3nutrition that our one and only @namyrame is running along with @cassidy.dickson_ and it has me eating more calories and carbs then I have in a long time!!! I crammed over 2250 calories in my mouth yesterday and 265 carbs and some how I still managed to drop in the scales this AM!!! Super excited to see where this is going over the next several weeks!!! Don’t get me wrong, these calories aren’t at all cakes, pies, Hamburgers etc. This is all carefully calculated and weighed out meals and portioned throughout my day. As parents we try to model the behavior we want to see in our kids. Both sides are never perfect but we definitely do our best. . We don’t make our kids play sports and we certainly don’t deprive them of TREATS. We just lead by example. We make healthy choices and we discuss how the food we eat gives us energy so we can function each day. We teach the twins that as athletes their performance is sometimes a reflection of their quality of sleep and the fuel they are putting in. . It’s not always easy to lead by example but I know it’s sinking in. Nate often joins me during my workouts and says things like, “Mommy we are getting strong.” 😀 Just this morning Jack asked me to throw all his Halloween candy out and he needed to eat more veggies 🤯. . NIGELLA’S SPANISH OMELETTE | On the weekend I borrowed @nigellalawson Fast Meals Cookbook, the perfect book while I’m still recovering and limited to simple and quick meals. On recommendation, the Spanish Omelette looked delicious and within my current capacity, especially with additions from my @blackpigdeli Monthly Charcuterie and Cheese Club - spiced Italian salami & sublime French Jouvence Le Chevredou goats cheese. I first sat on the couch with chopping board in toe and prepped the few ingredients - potato of choice (thrown in a pot to par boil), @alwaysfreshau charred capsicum (you could make/char your own), spring onion, grated cheese (next time I’ll plan ahead and get some stunning Manchego from @blackpigdeli), Italian spiced salami and pastured eggs. Throw it all in a pan on the stove for 5mins, then in the oven under the grill for 5mins. I’ve been battling lately. Not with trying to finish my workouts or choosing healthier food... But I’m battling anxiety. Stress. Grief. Healing from adrenal fatigue... I’m in the storm you all! And sometimes it feels like the darkness has consumed me to the point that no light can ever reach through. But I’m here to tell you it’s not true. Light CAN shine through. I’m living proof! You just have to keep moving forward and TRUST that you have the strength to continue on. Have FAITH that God has you and that in the brokenness you will be healed once again. Everyday I STILL get up early to workout. It gives my mind and body peace and relieves my stress. Everyday I STILL make an effort to eat healthier and drink more water. It provides me the energy I need to function and helps me not sink further into my emotions. Everyday I STILL fight to make time for journaling, prayer and reading books that fuel my mind with positivity. Just because I’m struggling and battling one of the hardest and lowest parts of my life doesn’t mean I give up. I’m getting up each day to fight to get over this struggle. Fighting to overcome the hard. And I’m fighting to be the best version of me I can each day!!! Don’t give up on yourself. Keeping making time for self care when you are in the hard stuff. It provides more light, more hope, and more faith that everything will be okay. quick, easy LUNCH 🤤 yussss, I did add salsa to top my spinach. (Anything for spice) —— 1.5 cup raw spinach, 1 cup raw broccoli, 2tbsp salsa, and 1/2 cup garlic & pepper mix! 🤩 I personally prefer raw spinach and veggies over steamed. You can, of course, steam it. Add a banana & a piece of toast w/ honey & coconut oil! (Or even have as a dessert🤤🍯🍯🍯🥥) PS!
