A typical training session for our athletes 1. Dynamic warmup- Get the muscles fired up and moving correctly. 2. Speed/movement- Cleaning up technical movement flaws and then improving actual speed. We use video to dissect movement technique and we time sprints of 10-20 yards frequently to track actual improvement. 3. Power work- Jumps and medball throws teach athletes to display strength rapidly. This helps with improving speed. Landing mechanics improve change of direction abilities and aid in reduction of knee/hip/ankle injuries and pain. 4. Strength- Improving an athletes strength improves their potential for speed and power. There are no fast, powerful weak athletes! Finally, a sweaty selfie for you! 😂 . Truth be told - I haven’t been consistently sweating since the middle of August. Between my Dad’s treatment ending, school starting, and being sick for 3+ weeks, it was hard to stay consistent. . Excuses? Somewhat 😕 . But I wasn’t mentally taking care of myself, which made it hard to physically take care of myself - and then really difficult with added infection. . But now? . Now I’m learning this new normal of mine. . Will school always be a bit overwhelming and stressful? Yup! It comes with my profession I believe. . Will my Dad still be a priority? Yup! We have another year of treatment to go starting November 5th. . Do I NEED to focus on my mental health, to be able to push my physical self to reach my goals? Yup! . It won’t happen overnight and I’ve learned to take baby steps to get there - small goals will add up. . More sleep 💤 More reading + listening 🧠 More nutritious food 🥑 Less phone time 📱 Less comparing 🙅🏻‍♀️ Less focusing on what I can’t change 😑 .
