Had to give @mazkhanfitness ‘s workout a try from yesterday.... 11/10 workout... this quad focused squat really focused on my outer quads and gave me the burn that I haven’t been recieiving in my regular squats. Drop the weight on these and work more on volume and depth whereas working for mass 😈. • • • 👖: @everforward my new favorite lifting shorts ... these lovely things will stay on you without having to pull anywhere ... Here we go again. Someone else telling me I need to set goals. Telling me I need to have expectations. Telling me that it won’t be easy. Yes. Why? Because it’s true. GROW is one method of many that I have used when developing a game plan and road to war in order to meet my Endstate. It’s a starting point that can allow you to draw the big blue arrow so you know what direction you want to take when you begin the detailed planning. G- Goals. Are they specific and are they relevant? R- Realistic. Simple. Are your goals realistic? Are they achievable and are they relevant to what your ultimate Endstate is? O-Options. Create some basic options or Courses of Action that you plan to take in order to obtain that goal. Assess their feasibility and how they fit into the timeline you have set. W: Will. Use negative and positive reinforcement to assess the emotional response you will have to failing or succeeding. This can be useful to determine how much you really want what you say you want. . . . Once again, this is one of many tools. When you decide to go to a CrossFit class for FUN.... I had a THOUSAND excuses in my head leading up to the WOD (many that could be seen a legitimate) but then I chose to shut up & do the dang thang. I see fitspo influencers on Instagram all the time working out in fully loaded globo gyms that have every workout machine in the book. That’s all and good, but if you’re like me, you don’t have access to a gym like that or it simply doesn’t work for your schedule or style. I’m here to tell you THAT’S OK and you don’t need fancy gym equipment to achieve your fitness goals. 🙌🏼😉 . . All you really need are the basics: dumbbells, benches, your body and if available barbells! You can get just as an effective workout and target all the muscles by using free weights. And bonus: you’ll work stabilizing muscles in addition to your target muscles when you use dumbbells because they require additional balance and muscle support. Can you go super heavy? Perhaps not as much as if you were using an isolation machine but you can get pretty damn close! 🥳🥳 . . Apartment gyms are notorious for being “just the bare minimum” unless you are fortunate to find a high quality one. 🚨Squat PR ! 🚨 140kg 5 rep max Been a good while since Ive hit a squat PR. Again had a 3 rep max programmed and thought 140kg would be a bit much. Ive struggled with squats the most this year, benching more than my squat most of the year so this is great.
