Did a half hour functional class at the gym tonight, but as there was only 2 of us in it, it felt more like a PT session and there was nowhere to hide. 600m row, 20 x 10kg slam ball, 60m prowler push, 60 second sprint. Then 500m, 18 slam ball, 50m push, 50 second sprint. And keep going down so you do 6 rounds. Doesn’t sound too bad written down but no break at all and I genuinely felt like I was going to vomit when we were done. No pain no gain 💪🏻💪🏻

Even though I often complain about school and all the work that comes with it, it’s such an important part of my life. ⁣ ⁣ Yes, school is hard. There is endless tests, readings and assignments. And some days I wish I would have chosen an easier degree or had not gone to school at all. ⁣ ⁣ Nevertheless, nursing is a passion of mine. Words can’t describe how amazing it is to help and heal people, connect with them on very emotional levels and be there for them during some of the hardest times of their lives. ⁣ ⁣ Beyond that, learning itself is perhaps the most amazing gift we as humans have been given. I am extremely blessed to have been born in a society that allows me to gain endless amounts of knowledge and expand my understanding of the universe. What separates our species from others is the ability to question everything and to seek answers beyond what is known. ⁣ ⁣ I have always been a curious soul. And I will forever be a lifelong learner. If school has taught me one thing, it’s that the more I learn the more I understand that I don’t know. ⁣ ⁣ So even though I may complain and whine, school is one of my favourite things in my life. I love nursing and everything it has taught me about our own bodies. Coming in hot with the squat variation video! Not going to lie it took me a long time to work up to the squat rack so I thought I’d post three variations that can all work that 🍑 work your way up to the bar (if that’s your goal) but just remember any workouts that works for you is the best kind of workout! . - dumbbell squats! This is a great way to start off with squats🌟 pick any weight until you find this too easy! Also a great option when the machines in your gym are too busy. - cable squats! This is a fun variation on the squat and I find is less intimidating. - squats on the squat rack💛 start with just the bar and work your way up to adding weights. I hope this helps anyone who is looking for tips on how to work up to the bar or is looking for new workouts💪🏻 let me know if you try any of these! . INSTAGRAM it’s a wonderful and terrible place at the same time, especially for fitness community. . We find support and understanding, that we don’t get from friends and family, from wonderful strangers. We get motivated by someone’s progress, but we can also get discouraged by it too. It’s a lot of mind game, you learn to filter all the bull💩. We get inspired by someone’s perfect feed, wonderful pics, always happy, always motivated, but we can also get discouraged if we can’t match up to that thinking there is something wrong with us if we aren’t always that happy, motivated, spotless house and well behaving kids. We get carried away comparing someone else’s front page shots to our behind the scenes. Rate at which information spreads is amazing, you learn so many wonderful things but along with that misinformation spreads around too and it’s too easy to get tangled in that. We meet many wonderful people that might be struggling with same issues and give each other support and motivation, but lots of fakeness, people pretending someone they are not, even stealing other people pictures. We get wonderful ideas how to look at things from different perspective, but we also get used by someone’s selling techniques and people trying to use our willingness to get help with some struggles/issues to take advantage. And sometimes we get so tangled in all of these and it gets pretty frustrating. We use social media and social media uses us. . I had deadlifts at the gym today. To be honest I wasn’t expecting to have a good session because I was feeling a little tired from my early morning wake up.
