Today is soooo much better then yesterday! . Last night I had a refeed. I had a Turkey burger with a regular bun, no gluten free modifications, and sweet potato fries. I also had some cookies🍪 and chocolate milk. . I woke up today feeling amazing. I know the extra calories gave me a boost, but I didn’t feel drained, bloated, or recked from consuming things I deemed I might be intolerant to. . I still possibly could be because reactions can occur even 72 hours after consumption, but as of right now no signs. . I still believe I am intolerant to something and it could be something as simple and sweet potatoes or broccoli. . I won’t know until I get a food blood test done. I’m hoping I can get one done sooner than later, but I might have to wait until 2019 insurance kicks in because I got some better coverage. . Today I woke up to some pre, first time in 2 weeks, and I killed my chest and shoulder workout, like holy crap it was so good. . Today’s leg n booty sesh!! Felt great, I rested yesterday (on a Monday?!) and on Sunday so I had tons of energy. . - sumo deadlifts 10x5. My second time trying these, I’m actually pretty satisfied with my form! Of course it’s a long way from perfect but still! - hip thrusts 12x5. Supreset with 10 close stand body weight hip thrusts. These felt pretty good today! - leg press 15x5, superset with 10 calf raises in the same machine. Im having my feet high and wide on the plate, focusing on the mind to muscle connection. Try to squeeze the glutes all the time with a quick pause at the top. - barbell curtsey lunges, 12x3. Today is the beginning of my second trimester. It still doesn’t feel real a lot of the time. I feel very lucky that I’ve had a good amount of days where I have the energy and ability to fit in a workout. It’s a huge privilege. But there are plenty of days I opt to prioritize rest and that’s so important and a privilege too. This particular workout was motivated by a really condescending and annoying email that truly filled me with rage. I felt this was probably the most productive way to get out my anger and it definitely helped.

❗️ I’ve been asked to do this video by some of my followers due to miss leading information out there. ❗️ 1️⃣ This is how your gluteus look if you’d peel your skin off. You can clearly see glutes Maximus. Medius and minimus are smaller and hides underneath Maximus. Glute Maximus is ONE muscle and can not be targeted as “upper” or “under (butt)”. It’s physiological impossible to isolate one part of one muscle. Even if your muscle fibers run in different direction in some muscles and therefore you can put a little (we’re talking 0-10%” at top) more stress on some parts of your muscle in certain position of an exercise, the rest of the ROM in that exercise will make up for that by putting stress on the other part so you will never notice any difference.  2️⃣ What you should do if you’re looking to maximize target on your glutes and minimize stress on your legs: look for exercise that provides lots of hip joint movement and little to non knee joint movement like this Glute bridge for example! 🍑🍑🍑 Abductions showed using the mini band is great to target the smaller muscles (mini/med). 3️⃣ Same goes for your six pack! (Rectus abdominis) which also is one muscle. There is 0 evidence that lifting your legs in any exercise will target only the lower part of the abdomen. The function of your abdominal muscles is to flex your spine - bending your upper body. You can see me pointing where Rectus abdominis starts an ends and how it function. As it ties in at your pubic bone and doesn’t go over your hip joint, bending at your hip will not activate your Rectus abdominis. Leg lifts does therefor more likely target your hip flexors.  4️⃣ As your Rectus abdominis function is to flex your spine that’s exactly how you should work it! Simple as that 😉 You HAVE to bend your back to make the RA work. Cable crunches is an awesome example! 🧠❗️ Please know that I only want the best for you. Always! My fitness journey...⬇️ I started going to the gym 3 years ago. I had done no sport for years. Modern hips are externally rotated.😮 . ▶️ The hips have just adapted to modern life that includes years of sitting, shoes with elevated heels (yes this includes running shoes), and having to support an upper body that’s collapsing inward on itself. So anterior head carriage and rounded shoulders are affecting the hips? Absolutely but that’s another discussion. 🤔 . . ▶️ In short the muscles on the outside and backside of the hip have adaptively shortened while the muscles on the inside have been pulled and twisted away from center. Unfortunately there’s no amount of passive stretching, pelvic tilting, and Glute activation exercises that are going to fix this. The long-term fix is via an integrative approach. 😉 . . ▶️ The Internal Leg Trace is just one of many @foundationtraining exercises that helps to correct this chronic rotational discrepancy that happens to have a significant impact on the mechanical and structural performance of the hips and the rest of the body. 🤯 #foundationtraining
