Are you your own parent? It’s YOUR job to make yourself do the crap you don’t want to do so you can BE everything that you’re supposed to be. Truth is we are so BUSY we keep WAITING to FEEL like it. You’re never going to! As a kid your parents made you do the things you didn’t want to do. Because you wouldn’t have done them, right? With Aiden I make him brush his teeth every day multiple times a day. He never FEELS like putting down his Paw Patrol toy in order to brush his teeth but I as his mother make sure that he takes care of his teeth. It’s SIMPLE to get what you want... (But NOT EASY) We don’t make decisions based off what we KNOW we need to do, or our goals, but based on how we FEEL right NOW. It’s your FEELINGS that make decisions for you. You’re never going to feel like doing the things you need to do to have what you want. So you are always going to need to push YOURSELF and be your own parent. The bottom line? NO ONE IS COMING to do it for you. Not to push you, to turn the tv off, to push you out the door to exercise, to apply for the job you always wanted...it’s up to you. There is a freedom that comes when you ACCEPT the fact that you will always need to give YOURSELF a push. That’s a mindset shift that I have made - it took TIME and a lot of bumps in the road - but NO ONE is coming to do it for me. I can control me and my choices and so can you! You are capable of being your own inspiration but it starts with intentionality. Get a giant F on nutrition this week but was my own parent today and pushed through sucky shoulder day because I am worth it - for that I am proud. Be your own parent, there’s no one coming to do it for you. You got this 👊🏼

I FINALLY have a Saturday off tomorrow! That never happens! Rain or shine, I am going hiking. With school and work I almost never have time to go anymore. I used to do it 3-4 times a week. Its my therapy, in a way. I miss it. I feel disconnected from myself when I cant spend time outdoors.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about diet tips and people wanting to know more about intermittent fasting. Check out this post from my buddy @roballenfitness . #Repost @roballenfitness with @get_repost ・・・ 💥Intermittent Fasting💥 . Follow @roballenfitness for more fitness/nutrition info 😊 . Intermittent Fasting won’t just magically make you lose weight. If you eat all of your calories within a smaller window of time then you’re just more likely to eat less. If you manage to eat the same number of calories or more then not much will change . Of course, there are other benefits of IF that are still being investigated but they won’t make you actually lose weight without being in a caloric deficit . Personally, I like this method because I’m not hungry in the morning and like only having 2 meals to plan, rather than 3 or 4. At the end of the day, as long as you eat less than what you burn, you’ll lose weight. It just has to be done consistently 😊 . If you choose to do IF then your eating window can be whatever suits your schedule. Ideally, try to incorporate your sleep into the Fasting window and your workout inside of, or right before your Eating window👌🏼 . Next post I do the simplest version of intermittent fasting. 16 hours of fast with an 8 hours window or more ideally 18 hours of fast with a 6 hours window. I dont mind not eating after 7 pm or 8 at the latest. I always find an early dinner to be so much better than eating late. With an early dinner one goes to bed feeling light and comfortable. Any day I eat late, I am bloated and heavy. My fast generally ends around 12 or 1 pm which is perfect lunch timings. Sometimes I have a boiled egg and a sliced peach. But more often I opt for 200 grams of grilled chicken and use any of the fun seasonings I have gathered. Its (for some reason) a very common response when asked about work or social lives. Not entirely sure why, its almost like being busy is a sign of success these days. But you need to be real with yourself. People are very easy to convince, they have no reason to suspect youre making excuses, plus they dont really care. Two kids, DOUBLE the tired. No matter HOW EARLY I wake up I almost ALWAYS have a kid with me while I workout - which isn’t my preference but we make it work. The day after I had Henry (10 months ago) I looked in the mirror and thought I’d never get back to ME again. Post partum depression was REAL the first four months. I was in a dark place of overwhelm and anxiety and if you’ve been around long enough to follow that you can remember how much I hid from the camera those early weeks or how my smiles weren’t as heartfelt as they could be. As a mom - especially of two (or more) - you feel this sense of being lost at times. Your days are dictated by tiny humans whether you work outside the home or not. If I had to guess you are falling into bed right now reading this and this is the first free moment you’ve had the entire day. I GET IT. Friends - it’s GOING to be a challenge.
