Today’s workout was called stronger. Let me just tell you, nothing about the workout made me feel strong 😅 Days like today I’m so thankful for my girls. All the stress of the last couple weeks and traveling has finally caught up with me and I’m not feeling the greatest (perfect timing I know). Working out wasn’t really on my list of priorities but I was gonna do. Probably half ass it but I was gonna do it 💪🏼 Thankfully another one of my girls needed to workout too so we hoped on a live call and worked out together! Accountability at its finest ✨

The reason I have included so many different shoulder workouts is because there are 3 different sections of muscle on your shoulder. . Front, side, and back. . Can I say what a morning? We got about 5-6 inches of snow last night. So that means lots of snow blowing and shoveling. The snow blower ran out of gas halfway through and didn’t want to start again. I tried to restart it for what seemed like forever and it wouldn’t start so I walked away from it and did some shoveling. Tried to start it again and it wasn’t happening. Right when this sweet couple stopped to help it finally started. I’m so thankful there are still nice people in this world. Finally, after an hour of snow removal I got it all done and YES that counts as my workout. . Now onto this big bowl of oats that I have been eating about everyday post workout because it keeps me full and tastes amazing. . Blueberry Oats 1 pk @quaker instant oatmeal 2 tbsp @bobsredmill flaxseed meal 1 scoop @idealfit protein powder of choice (Use code MIRANDA for 10% off) 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries . In a small bowl mix together oatmeal, flaxseed meal, and water. Microwave for 60-90 seconds. Remove from microwave and add protein powder. Experimenting with breakfast this morning! I’ve been eating egg white Omelets for breakfast the past few days so I wanted to change it up a little. I added Strawberry protein powder to my Vanilla Greek yogurt then added a scoop of my veggie powder (made from 10 different Freeze Dried vegetables) and mixed it all up! I wasn’t sure how it would turn out but strawberry & vanilla flavors mask the veggies really well, I might even try two scoops of veggie powder next time! Okay I’m gonna hop on this #10yearchallenge 😜 Pic on the left 2008 okay so more like 11 yrs 😉 pic on the right is NOW! - A lot has changed over the years besides the obvious ones I’m now 33, I have 2 beautiful sassy girls 👯‍♀️ and married my best friend!👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 But I think the most important one was that I’ve realized over the years that I can’t depend on others or materialistic things to make happy that’s solely dependent on me!💯 - The girl on the left was very much insecured, her self image and self worth were not at a good place 💔would starve herself and binge which caused an unhealthy relationship with food! The only form of workout she did was running 🏃‍♀️ on a treadmill for hours to fit into this “skinny” image she thought would bring her happiness!☹️ - So yeah I guess you could say I’ve changed a lot 😜😉 but for the better. I believe in myself more and truly love who I’ve become in this body, though I’m far from perfect. I’m always striving to be better. 2009 vs 2019 . Cross country running with horrible form and scared of weight training turned weight lifter and learned about nutrition!😅 . In 2009 I was actually really good at XC and one of the fastest on my team with 19:51 5k PR! . But the more and more I ran, the more I got chronic overuse injuries in my shins. . I also ate like crap back then, and ended up gaining 30 lbs because my metabolism slowed down and I couldn’t run all the time because I was injured. . My junior year of college was when I really learned how to properly lift and that nutrition is even more important to get results! . My senior year I actually started apply that knowledge and it’s been a learning process ever since! . To this day, I’m still learning how to fuel my body properly and what foods work best for me as an individual! . I’m also loving helping others on there fitness journeys and helping females get past their fears of lifting. LIFTING WEIGHTS WON’T MAKE YOU “BULKY”!!!!! . Learned a lot the past 10 years, and I’m still learning!

Tonight was Arms & Abs... lets just say Im gonna need help washing my hair for the rest of the week. I did 3 circuits. Heres the breakdown: - 20 min treadmill warm up. - 10 x 45lb bicep curls - 25x10lb tricep raises - 20x10lb lat pull up - 20x 10lb shoulder press - 15x reverse leg raises. - 15x heal touch - 30x mountain climbers with twist - 15 push-ups. There was no breaks between; I went straight from one to the next. I can already feel my arms going dead. BUT the good news is: I found some killer new tracks to add to my playlist! Happy Monday! . For this weeks weekly goal I’m going to talk about protein. If you were anything like me before you started macro counting you ate a lot of carbs and fat and minimal protein. I use to tell people I was a Carbatarian. For those who don’t know what that is I only ate carbs. . So let’s say youre new to macro counting and want to start eating more protein. First, don’t go from eating 40 grams to 150 grams of protein overnight. Your stomach will hate you. You will have abdominal discomfort, bloating and gas. . How to increase your protein? 💥 Start by adding an extra 20-40 grams of protein daily if you tolerate the extra protein well increase it again. 💥 After you get to what is recommend .8-1.2 grams per pound of body weight. Take your number and divided it by how many meals/snacks you are going to eat each day. 💥 Example 150 grams divided by 6 meals is 25 grams each meal or snack. . Now that you have reach how much protein you need each day is when you would want to set behavioral goals so at the end of the day your not stuck with 100 grams of protein and no carbs or fats. How do you do this? 💥 I commit to eating 25 grams of protein with each meal 💥 I commit to eating 30 grams of protein with my meals and 20 grams of protein with my snacks . I started implementing more functional movements into my exercise regimen last week and I had so much fun doing it. I genuinely felt excited to be at the gym and I enjoyed every second of my workout. I love a new challenge and I love to mix it up. . If you are getting bored with your workouts switch it up. Change up the tempo, reps, weight, type of training, or try some new movements that you’ve never done before. . Here is a FUN/KILLER lower body workout. If you’re short on time this one is perfect for you. . Warm-up: 10 minutes on the treadmill, bike or elliptical. Lower Body Burnout: You’ll need 1 kettlebell (I used 35 pounds) & 1 booty band. 1️⃣15 kettlebell swing to squat 2️⃣ 10 (each leg) walking lunge with single-arm KB overhead hold – keep that core tight and engaged throughout the whole movement. Keep your chest up. 3️⃣ 10 (each leg) kettlebell lateral shifts – keep booty at the same height throughout the whole movement. 4️⃣ 30 abducting fast feet 5️⃣ 10 alternating jump lunges (1 each leg) to squat jump (1) to half burpee (1) .
