Started off the week strong redoing PWR wk 13, second round. Shoulders & abs ✅! So chips are my weakness. I can give up chocolate and ice cream but chips ... no self-control. It’s bad bc they’re bad. So I bought some bean chips at Whole Foods to curb my craving. It’s working, somewhat. Any other recommendations besides sliced veggies? 😊

Breakfast this morning is homemade chocolate granola with bliss balls, strawberries and almond milk! So delicious! Granola recipe 👇🏼👇🏼 . Recipe: - ½ cup coconut oil - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 2½ cups oats - ½ cup cacao powder - ½ cup crushed almonds - ½ cup maple syrup - ½ cup shredded coconut . - Dark (dairy free) chocolate bar - Dried mango - Coconut chips . Add together oats, cacao powder, almonds, maple syrup and shredded coconut and mix around. . In a medium sauce pan, add coconut oil and vanilla and let it get thick. Constantly stir around for about 4-5 minutes. . Then add it to the mixture and mix around until well combined. . Spread the mixture out evenly on a baking sheet sprayed with coconut oil and put it in the oven (preheated 200C) and bake for about 50-60 minutes or until it turns darker in colour. Make sure to check it regularly so it doesnt burn! . Then take it out and let rest for about 30 minutes. When cool mix in the chocolate, dried mango and coconut chips. . Store in an airtight container. Will last for months. . . . Not a transformation post although it may appear that way. I wanted to explain a bit more about what I am going through. . . I currently have diastasis recti, which is abdominal separation. It makes my belly “pooch” out and it can happen from pregnancy (which is what I am assuming caused mine). So the picture on the right is me holding my tummy tight and the left is relaxed. . . So what can be done for it? Wellll according to my doctor only surgery. But since I plan on having more kiddos I requested to go to physical therapy (yay for being an OT and being able to advocate for myself). So I am currently going to physical therapy for it. . . How does it affect me? First of all, I have been skipping the core component of my workouts because I should be avoiding crunches and planks right now, which can make the separation worse. Instead I complete my home exercise program from PT during that time. So I am not getting a super ripped stomach right now because I am working first on HEALING my muscles and trying to repair them. . . I share this for multiple reasons: 1) to be REAL 2) to hopefully have other moms who are or have gone through this be able to relate to my situation 3) to say that if I don’t have a 6-pack it’s not because I’m not working my butt off with my workouts and meal plan 4) to help spread awareness and educate people about DR. . . If you are going through this as well, let me know! It’s nice to know you’re not alone when dealing with something like this. And we can discuss how to modify work outs so that our fitness doesn’t have to be on hold while we try to heal. . .

Can’t beat simple dinners on the porch 🍂 It’s still summer in the AL though, so naturally I had a big bowl of fresh watermelon on the side 😛🍉 Enjoy it while it lasts, right?

There are lots of ways to eat your daily dose of hormone-supporting seeds, but these paleo #seedcycling balls are by far my favorite. They take just a few minutes to blend up and each day you eat 1 ball! I made these sunflower-sesame balls to help support the hormones of the luteal phase (aka ovulation to day 1) of my cycle. If you watched my stories, you know they didn’t come out very sweet, so melting and drizzling some @ritualchocolate on top was literally the icing on the cake - so perfect! I can’t wait to whip up some follicular balls in just a few days. Bring on the pumpkin and flax seeds! . To make 14 balls: Blend 14 tbs of sunflower seeds and 14 tbs of sesame seeds in a food processor till super soft and crumbly - almost butter. Then add a splash of vanilla, lots of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Drizzle in 2 tbs melted @organicvalley ghee and 2 tbs melted @bluemountainorganics coconut butter. Heck throw a little @bulletproof MCT oil in if you’re feeling it. Also add in 2-3 softened medjool dates. You may want to add more if you want it sweeter. Pulse/blend till combined and a dough forms. If super liquidy you could add some nut flour. If too dry, add more melted fat. Taste the dough and adjust flavors to your liking! Roll into balls, sprinkle with coconut, and stick in the fridge to harden. Drizzle w/ chocolate and you are officially one bite away from a happier healthier cycle! 💖 . NOTE: Seed Cycling isn’t a magic bullet. It could take 3 months until you notice improvement in your cycle. I highly recommend working with a functional medicine practitioner or naturopathic doctor to discover the underlying root cause of any hormonal issues you may have. I did and my doc helped my body heal and rebalance itself. Now I know what periods are supposed to be like! Nearly pain free and zero PMS. Crazy coming from the girl who use to pop 3 Advil every 3 hours just to survive day one, ya feel me? 😖😭 But seed cycling does help balance hormones naturally (and it can also be freaking delicious 😉) so I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Felt super weak today so I cut my workout short and went on an extra long walk. Prepped some extra food and veggies for tomorrow to make sure I’m ready for a killer arm day. I decided I’m going to work my way through the @kaylaitsines #bbg program because it’s pretty easy to follow along to, and the perfect length to fit into a busy day 💪🏻 • This will be like the 200th time I’ve tried to go through this program, and I’ve already lasted longer than I normally do (aka week 2 😂), so I thought posting this would help me stay accountable and actually do all 12 weeks. This smoothie was honestly one of my favourites Ive ever made. It was the perfect way to start my day. Who wants me to share more food pics on here? - If you were wondering, it was made up of: » one small banana » small handful of frozen blueberries » small handful of frozen raspberries » handful of oats » chia seeds » 2 scoops of @tropeaka chocolate lean protein » a tablespoon of cacao powder » tropical juice - Let me know if you give it a shot! Im currently at school, procrastinating as usual, and have so much work to do. My fatigue has made it extremely hard for me to get my work and workouts done. So Ive had a few rest days this week and probably will have another one today. That wont stop me from smashing out week 16 of BBG and week 4 of BAM. Ill be making time over the next few days to ensure I can get them in. Ill definitely be listening to my body this week.

Hang on! its Wednesday 😋🥞Serving this delicious stack of oatmeal pancakes to start your day 🙈topped with extras raw chocolate balls and half of chocolate chip cookie 🍪✨😊💕 Ingredients: 1 medium sized ripe banana 1/2 cup soy milk 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 2 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) 1 tbsp (or 2) sugar or sweetener 1 cup quick cook oats 1/2 tsp vanilla or cinnamon (optional) 2 tbsp cacao nibs or choc chips (optional) Combine everything in a blender or food processor. Blend or pulse until just to incorporate the ingredients. Do not overmix. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken. Medium heat nonstick pan, pour a heaping tablespoon of the batter. You can adjust the heat of the pan to low. Wait til edges are almost done about 5 min. ✨Additional Tips ✨ 1. I make the batter in a blender. Its easier and takes less utensils to wash after. 2. Put the wet ingredients first! Follow this order banana, plant milk, apple cider vinegar/lemon juice, sugar, vanilla (optional), baking powder, salt, quick oats. Fold in the chocolate chips. 3. Pulse just to incorporate. Let it sit for few minutes to thicken. I notice when Im almost done using the batter, the last pieces of pancakes turn out to be more fluffy. 4. Invest in a good non stick pan! 5. Start with medium high heat then once the pan is hot turn it to low. 6. I hear it alot- instead of focusing on building your personal brand and your online identity, you should focus on getting a better ad campaign or setting up a better funnel. . . Yes, conversion rates, ad campaigns, funnels, operations, onboarding processes, etc are all very important for your business and need to be paid attention to. . . BUT they are absolutely useless if you dont have an audience that trusts you, loves you, values what you provide and connects with you on a level that goes deeper than just having your ad pop up on their feed. . . I started my personal brand LONG before I even thought about starting my business. I provided value to my audience and built trust with them for 3 years. I showed up daily. And you know what? . . Its making my ads perform WONDERFULLY. My cost of acquiring new customers is so low and my click through rate is through the roof. People that look at my ads (and understand what all those fancy numbers mean) cant believe my numbers. . . People reach out to me and tell me that they EXPECT my posts to pop up on their feed. They have made me part of their daily routine. That feels great because I know Im able to connect with people. Its also great because people trust me and know that the connection I have with them is not just a tactic but something that Ive invested a lot of time in. . . Depression doesn’t discriminate. Seriously. Tonight I want to bare my soul to you guys. I hope you don’t mind. Depression plagued me when I was a size 14 and it plagued me in this photo. I know I’m smiling. I know I look fit, happy, healthy. But today, I scheduled a therapy appointment because life is really hard. Today, I cried in the bathroom because I miss my dad, work is overwhelming, I feel like I’m falling short of my goals, and tbh I’m just sad. Depression is so heavy. My head feels foggy. I am absolutely exhausted. And if I had the choice, I wouldn’t leave bed. Really. Leaving bed is tougher than anything. Depression sucks. Social media is a good mask but I’m refusing to wear it. I have depression. Losing 60 lbs didn’t solve it - even though I hoped it would. I have taken medication. I have a therapist. I skip workouts to go to bed at 6 PM. I smile when I’m not happy. I feel like a burden from time to time. But ya know what - I am here. And I am fighting. And I am trying to be forgiving when I simply cannot fight. I hope if you read this tonight, you know you’re not alone. I stand with you. Your mental illness is not your shortcoming, it is not your undoing, it is not your fault. People harp on physical fitness. But everybody goes quite when you talk about mental health. I refuse to silence those who are suffering, including myself. I am kind. I am smart. I am athletic. I am a hard worker. But I also am depressed - and that’s okay. And if you’re depressed, that’s okay too. I stand with you, I feel for you, I hurt for you, and I love you. Reach out for help. Talk to others. Schedule a therapy appointment. And know it’s simply okay to not be okay. You’re a warrior. And I am so proud of you.

A rainy Wednesday morning 🌧 My cosy bed 😴 1000 reasons to stay under my doona & re-work my week to make today my rest day ✔️. . Of course I could have done that 👆🏼but the biggest thing I have learnt since doing this thing is consistency matters 🎯Most excuses are shit 👎🏼 Create a habit & it will win every time 📆 If you do something enough - it really does become like second nature. Getting up when I don’t want to is definitely my habit. My norm. Snoozing for another half an hour isn’t (I mean it does happen, but not that often) & thank god for that because ain’t nothing productive happening in my dreams 💭💭💭Leg day today was amazing. I’m so glad I didn’t miss it 💥. . Another thing that has become second nature is eating out & sticking to plan 🎯 That NEVER used to be the case 🙅🏻‍♀️ I would go out with the best of intentions & come home disappointed because I couldn’t follow through....AGAIN. But slowly, with practise (& plenty of discipline) I started to stick to my it & order the salad (or whatever i planned on having). I would always look at the menu ahead of time, decide what to get & enter it in my fitness pal. Mentally this helped me take the guess work out of it 🤷🏻‍♀️ And although you just have to swipe to delete entries on MFP I was like - well it’s already entered so I can’t change now 😂 #whateverworks . . The point to this story is that last night I went out for dinner with some of my friends & I got a salad & I sat across from my cousin who was eating the most delicious looking bacon cheeseburger in the world 😍🍔 & I was so freaken jealous as I was chewing on my lettuce 😂 But I had to remember the bigger picture. I’m eating the salad for a reason. I won’t always have to be this restrictive but I have to now 👊🏼 I want this so bad - so much more than the cheeseburger (even though I was closing my eyes, eating my chicken - willing it to be a burger 😂) And better than anything else - I still had a great night out with my friends even though I stuck to plan. I shouldn’t have to miss out on a thing even though my goals are number 1️⃣ baby 💪🏼 . . Have a good hump day babes 😘😘

BBG Arms Week 23 ✅ . This workout is the definition of #deathbykayla 😵 SO many push ups, I really thought I was gonna die. I wanted to quit at every second but made it through the end 🙌🏼 I did a bit less reps than 2 weeks ago during Week 21, but I think my form improved a bit, so thats great 😁 Also last time, the workout was in the morning, and this one was after a long day of work, so the fatigue of the day may have decreased my performance ☺️ . Before panicking because you feel like youve done worse than the session before, just think about the context of the workout. Maybe youre more tired, maybe youve had a rougher day, maybe you did the exercises more accurately. It doesnt mean that your strength just decreased. Breakfast for lunch 😍🙌🏻 It’s been a couple days since I had this combo and man oh man did I miss it 🤗 I needed a quick lunch before heading to an appointment so leftover sweet potatoes, two quick fried eggs, and some easy veggies were the perfect lunch 😎 Can we talk about how crispy those eggs are?? I mean 👌🏻 Nothing better than a crispy egg 🍳 in my opinion that’s the best way to have them 💯 I loveee my cast iron skillet to make them and I like using ghee (clarified butter) because it has a pretty high smoke point so it doesn’t break down when I cook the eggs 🙌🏻 Also the way it’s made makes it lactose free so it’s helpful if you’re a little sensitive to dairy (not an allergy) Plus it tastes amazing and gives everything a nice buttery taste! And it makes your eggs crispy 😉 Added in leftover sweet potatoes from this weekend and some easy veggies 🍅 Perfect meal any time of the day 🙆🏼‍♀️ Added some micro greens to pack in a little extra nutrition 👊🏻 I buy mine local but a lot of health food stores carry them! • 8 years ago I decided to sell my car, give up my career and leave the comfort of one of the world’s warmest families (and countries for that matter), to move to the Netherlands. I got myself a bike, a job, (that I didn’t particularly love, but met a lot of incredibly cool people through) but then decided to move on to something more challenging. At my new job I found a home in one of the kindest and, by far, the most thoughtful people I’ve had the luxury of getting to know. She became my shoulder to cry on, my lawyer, my biggest supporter, the bad cop (in our bad/good cop situations), my sister, my mentor and my family, but above all, she became my home. You spend moments in your life trying to relate to people, relate to songs, relate to situations - all for the sake of connecting with people. To find that common ground, mutual understanding all in search of your soul sister, brother, partner and blah blah blah (you get my drift...). @tuyenduong became all that to me. And today she left the Netherlands to move on to more exciting adventures. But there’s a massive hole in my soul now. I know it’s not goodbye, but see you later kinda deal, but it sucks knowing she’s no longer a train & tram journey away. My advice to you is when you find your soul brethren, hug the living daylights out of them and never let them feel like they’re on their own. Because they aren’t. You’ve got their back and it’s important you never let them down. The country just got a shiteload darker. I’ll miss you like no other DuongBell. See you soon ♥️

I tend to be anxious to move on to the next step, racing and focusing towards the future, without observing and sitting in the now ..something I am working on. This pregnancy is teaching me great patience. The process is long. He could be here in three and a half weeks he could be here in eight weeks. I don’t know. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Lately I have been verbalizing that pregnancy is not enjoyable for me (even though it has been relatively easy physically and not many symptoms and I feel guilty even saying that). I just want to meet him; I’m sick of the comments strangers and coworkers make about my body; I want to lay on my belly; I can’t take a full breath ect. That’s where my focus has been. And how unfortunate. I made a list today of reasons why I’m glad I am still pregnant to try to shift my brain. There has been so much magic so much growth and so much excitement through this whole process. I have been completely blind to it these past few weeks because of my focus on the lame. Today I welcome a necessary shift and a redirection on the true beauty and wonder of this whole process. Thank you equinox thank you moon thank you pregnancy thank you son for everything you are teaching me everyday 🙏🏽

BBG Week 8 (my 20th week!) abs and cardio ✔️ Did the 1st half in the nursery while baby girl kicked around, then she got antsy so we took it to the hallway for the rest. My son gets his iPad time when I wake him up from his nap, because hes kinda cranky and the iPad helps. 😂 He came outta his room and joined us. Wasnt planning on a workout today. I got dinner in the crock pot instead of eating breakfast before preschool drop-off, and had to get little missy to the doc for her 2nd round of flu shot right after (the little badass didnt even cry!). Then when we got home I had breakfast and nursed and it was time to go pick up the boy. Whew. Then it never fails, the second I get one down for a nap the other wakes up. 😭 Anyway, in stockinged feet and nursing tank, sans sports bra, I ran and got my jump rope and got started. Luckily its a decently tight tank and Id just nursed. 😂 I was just hoping to get through 1 7-min circuit so Id feel obligated to get the other 3 sometime this evening, 😅 but managed to push through all of it! I swear the circuits only being 7 minutes is what keeps me going. Im always like, well, lets try for the next 7 and see what happens. Then before you know it, Ive done 28 minutes. 🙂 Also, bought a new pair of leggings (swipe). The sun doesn’t always shine and if you’re anything like me that can make you SAD & affect your motivation! It’s a massive reason why I moved states from the cold, Grey south to the sunny, bright north ☺️☀️🌿🙌🏻 Thing is, if we rely on outside circumstances to be a particular way for us to feel good and feel motivated then we are at the whim of endless external variables and our results will reflect this. Results in our health, happiness, fitness, finances, relationships, etc A more sustainable and effective way to be is to learn that “circumstances don’t matter, only state of being matters”... This is one of those life lessons that I carry with me and continually learn deeper levels of... We can choose our state of being... We can connect to & open our hearts in any moment we choose despite the weather, the circumstances, the zillion external influences ☺️ And guess what?! When we do this WE WIN... Because we’re in control of our experience and this is empowering ☺️ It also inspires &positively affects everyone you encounter ☺️ So- how are you entering your day today?
