My legs have always been my biggest insecurity -UGGHHHHHH I could literally scream thinking about how many stupid thoughts I’ve had that were self degrading over the years. It’s crazy how consuming one single thought can be for so freaking long.🤯 . I NEVER would have posted this picture two years ago…wait, I never would have TAKEN this picture two years ago! But I believe that self care and self love are two of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. It took me years to learn how to love myself, and it took me a lot more time to learn how to care for my body. I took a break from posting on social media last week because, well, I was busy. While at first I felt like I was dropping the ball, I had to remind myself that its all just part of balance! . Tag a friend Follow @getfitleg_s Video by @natacha.oceane Functional lower body gonna get everything fired up in the legs and glutes whether you’re ready or not 🔥👏 ⠀ ⠀⠀ Four fun moves and yet a whole lower body destroyed sounds good to me ☺️🙃 Swipe, save and let’s get working 💪 ⠀ ⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Single leg deadlift with reach (3 x 12 total): the goal here is to stretch both forwards and backwards as far as you can while maintaining a tempo that allows tension to come through the hamstring and 🍑 Don’t feel bad if the balance is off at the start, you got this! ⠀ ⠀⠀ 2️⃣ Dumbbell overhead rotating toe touches (3 x 8 per side): the overhead arm stays extended and vertical throughout, with weight going through both heels 💛 The flexibility comes real quick on these 🤘 ⠀⠀ 3️⃣ Weighted side lunges (4 x 8 per leg): extend far enough sideways for a good 90 degree squat with the knee and toe in line on the working leg ⠀ ⠀⠀ 4️⃣ Lateral weighted kneel to squats (4 x 6): each time you come back into the squat position is one rep, and shuffle sideways slowly throughout. On the spot and without weights work too, just vary them to what works for you 😘 ⠀

Today’s leg workout!! 🏋️‍♀️ One of my BEST training strategies to build muscle, get stronger and be lean is to lift weight in multiple rep ranges. By that I mean (first video) I do some heavy, heavy squats (2 reps) and then I back off on weight and do more squats (5 reps) and then I do another exercise (third video- Nordic Hamstring Curls) for 8 reps and then I do another exercise (fourth video- Band Leg Press) for 10 reps and another exercise (Seated Leg Curl) for 12 reps. 💪 Also, most of these exercises work more than one muscle at a time (compound movements 🔑). So even if you use a dumbbell or kettlebell to squat, try doing 3 sets of heavy squats first and then 3 sets of lighter squats after 🙌Do you incorporate something like this into your routine already?? Leg Workout - Plié Pulses with weights, Front End Squats and Deadlifts. The difference is the warm-up. I stress this a lot when I train clients, whether it’s lunging or squatting without weights, it is ESSENTIAL to warm-up. Sliders can be really useful for lunges, really helps with coordination, and core control. Plié Pulses with weights is a great inner thigh exercise as well as glute and quad exercise. HAPPY MONDAYY friends!! 🖤 Here’s my glute and hamstring focused leg workout from yesterday! I just LOVE leg days!! Am I crazy?! 😜 the feeling of such a great workout without the cardio.. that’s my kind of workout 🏋️‍♀️ 😉 WHO ELSE HATES CARDIO?! 😩 . Here’s the breakdown:: . • after your warm up of course, I like to start with a solid compound movement like deadlifts. • sumo stance deadlifts- I do 4 sets of 15 if I use a lighter weight like here. . • cable thrusters- ok. Most AWKWARD movement maybe, everrrr but I swear to you.. the booty gains are real if you just push past this and DO THE THRUSTERS!😜 (4 sets of 15) . • back extensions- 4 sets of 10- and squeeze your glutes at the top- you don’t need to have a huge range of motion...you will feel this trust me! . • leg press- 4 sets of 12- I like to switch it up with the leg press and do a narrow stance, wide stance, but this is just normal stance. . • glute kickbacks- (4 sets of 10 each side) okay this is a favorite of mine for building that booty! I play around with my stance on this to bent over kick back to standing straight and almost a slight lean back to reallly activate the glutes 👌🏻 . • step ups- FInalllyyyy the FINISHER.. really burn out those legs/ glutes.. with steps ups!! You can hold dumbbells or just your body weight! My legs were dead I didnt even use a weight and it was a challenge and my legs were ON FIREEEEE 🔥 .
