My morning routine consists of workout clothes including big comfy sweatshirt, brush my teeth, contain my wild hair, head down to make these two drinks. They are a critical part of my mornings. ☀️ The first is my energy drink that wakes me up, puts a tingle in my body so I know it’s working, and helps me push harder and stronger through my workouts. I don’t drink coffee so this my energy drink. It’s plant based and not filled with the chemical crap those other energy drinks have. It’s lemon flavored with fruit punch making its debut in February!! 🍋 The other drink is my during workout drink. This is another plant based drink that is comparable to Gatorade, except not full of all the strips and food dyes. This drink helps replace the electrolytes lost during workouts and helps me stay hydrated to keep on going! It is citrus flavored! 🏋🏽‍♀️ This lifestyle has helped me really analyze what I’m putting in to my body. The sugar consumption alone is alarming. People always say “keep showing up” but when is it too much?! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I learned the hard way last year that I can’t actually do it all and this year balancing my first year of teaching and coaching on top of getting up between 4 and 5 to train is quite honestly not sustainable. This platform makes it look like it’s easy to get up early and make running the number 1 priority. But that’s just not where I am at right now. The smoke from the Camp Fires up in Butte County has been steadily coming through SR. Ive pretty much been cooped up in the house since Thursday, save for rehearsals. At VFit, we are in the middle of our 21 Day Fitness Reboot with a group of over 100 rockstars and the whole process has us motivated for this week’s topic…… Today we are talking about seizing the day. It’s not about ‘having’ time. Because really, we all have the same amount of time each day. It’s about MAKING TIME. For our VFit 21 Day Fitness Reboot, we designed a game we like to call Yango! It just so happened that it’s also really fun to shout out YANGO each day as you complete your mission. In Yango, you have a playing card with 21 daily fitness/self care challenges. They range in time from 4 minutes to 30 minutes. Some are create your own workouts, some involve stretching, some require joining a VFit class and much more. It is up to each participate to strategically plan and complete ONE square per day. The goal of this game is to reboot our minds and bodies to show up for 21 days straight and to realize that we DO all have some time each day for our own health and well being. It’s been amazing to watch play out!
