Salads are the most ‘misused’ diet food! . From the beginning of the diet era, people have been going to salads with the expectation that this meal will automatically set you on the right track towards your health and fitness goals. . While salads can be a great meal (like any meal) they are often misused! . You may have good intentions while preparing or ordering your salad, but it’s important to actually understand what makes this a meal you should incorporate into your diet. . When a salad is ‘misused’ we see it in two different ways: 1️⃣The ‘Loaded’ Salad. Or, 2️⃣The ‘Plain’ Salad. . 1️⃣The ‘Loaded’ Salad—this is so common. Like mentioned before, a lot of people believe any and all salads have magical fat burning powers, or that they’re automatically lower calorie..this just isn’t true. This salad appears to be “healthy” but is loaded with croutons, and drenched and multiple servings of high calorie dressing; which almost always comes out to be more than 1,000 calories. . 2️⃣The ‘Plain’ Salad. Ahhh so you’re going on a diet, you’re convinced you’ll be okay with just eating only veggies, no dressing at all. What’s wrong with that? Well, it had good intentions, but it won’t last! You’ll get sick of this meal, very quickly—and will also find yourself as the ‘odd man/woman’ out if your order this at a restaurant; amongst comments from others. You’ll get tired of being unsatisfied from this meal, and return to old eating habits. . So how can you make the perfect salad? . The Perfect Salad—monstrous pile of veggies (for volume), add in a lean protein source (chicken, lean ground beef, turkey), and add your favorite low calorie dressing (I love fat free Catalina dressing). And boom! There’s your perfect salad! . This one will actually taste good, it will fill you up, and it will be a reasonable amount of calories! . 🕊Life Coaching pt.3🕊 ”Importance of making/following a meal plan” —————————————————–—————Once you have set a goal, its just not enough to follow a workout plan, you will also need to have a meal plan to follow. Why? Becuase YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT ,the food you decide to have along your workout routine will be the factor deciding what your result will be. ——————— The meal plan have many purposes such as: ☑️Making sure your meals fit your workout routine, Pre and Post. Example: 1.Pre workout meal - Oaths w Banana 2.Post workout meal - ChickenSallad (charging and recovery/musclebuilding)☑️Making sure that everyday will have the correct Nutrition split for you (Carbs,Proteins and fats) ☑️Following a meal plan is timesaving becuase you will able to prepp your meals but also wont have to do the ”thinking” of what to eat every single day. You will also be able to plan when you actually will have your workout during the day/ what days to rest. ☑️But MOST importantly! You will have your Calorie intake for the day organised. Your calorie intake will be what mostly decide what you look like, it is as simple as that! It wont really matter if you get your calories from more carbs or fats, as long as the intake in the end of the day is fitting your goal. This might be a concept hard to understand so my next life coaching post will have focus on Calories.–———————————–—————————🕊I like to set my meal plans every sunday for the following week becuase: 1. I like to be able to always set new variations 2. By sunday, I know my work/event schedule so I know what I will need to eat and when I need to eat it. 🕊whatever your goal physique is, keep it in mind when writing your meal plan. Say hello to Misha everyone and read her story below:- All my life I had been a dancer but a condition in my ankle since the age of 7yrs old was holding me back. From the age of 3 years,  I was a classically trained dancer, I quit at 10 years old as the pain was unbearable. My dream of becoming a professional dancer was now over. After seeing various doctors I finally had an answer for my problems. I had an operation on my ankle to remove random cartilage. I recovered at home followed with crutches and physiotherapy. I had lost critical time in the dance world. It was now time to refocus and put plan B in to operation. I experimented with various forms of fitness and sports from Cheerleading to Judo. I plunged my self into the theatrical and fitness world.  I was able to do this at my own pace and still have fun. I focused on what I could do, rather than want I cant. I struggled to come up with a occupation where a certain amount of fitness was not required. Singing, writing, producing and entertaining is now my profession and passion, therefor, body image and exercising my vocal muscles are valuable. I keep a healthy diet, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly. I have a focus and an aim, its exciting and rewarding as it all falls into place, no matter how hard I have to work for it.
