Snacks have always been a sticking point for me-wanting something tasty between meals but afraid to ruin my macros for the day with a treat. Thats when we fall into the trap of eating healthy snacks...you know, the ones they market are healthy for you. One such example is a dark chocolate covered almond. So for the sake of comparison, lets line it up with a lovely snickers (because chocolate and nuts). And what do we see? Well, not an overall difference give or take some marginal differences. And if youre going to get hung up on a less than 30 calorie difference you need to look at your relationship with food imo. The biggest difference here is that the one you wanted, and the other is a substitute. Having the nuts youll pretty much the same calories and macros yet didnt actually have what you wanted. So being bad and having the unhealthy snack would of pretty much left you in the same spot with your daily intake-except your craving is satisfied. You eat the nuts but youre still thinking about the snickers. Eat the snickers and youre a happy camper. Another fitness myth that needs to die!

Calories do not change dependant on the time you eat them. So if you are set to eat in a deficit with a calorie goal of 1500 per day it doesnt matter at what point you eat these calories. As long as you stick to this calorie goal (and youve worked out your deficit right) you will lose weight.

Now... where a lot of people fall down is that when they eat at night they tend to pick high calorie, processed snack foods that certainly will destroy your goals for the day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can give you all the tips & advice in the world but a lot of this still comes down to your own discipline. I cant be stood at the side of your fridge slapping your hand away ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So dont let this mythical time stand in your way of eating. If you need to eat late thats totally fine. Just stick to the meals you would normally eat and not snacking on that bag of crisps and dip or tub of B&Js at the back of the freezer ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💥8 Low Calorie, High Volume Fat Loss Foods by @sam_xceedfit💥 . . 🥦Now what I will start of says by is; there’s no such thing as foods that burn fat. You burn fat by being in a calorie deficit and moving more. However, a major part of any diet is food choices. On a fat loss diet, you want to try and eat as many filling foods as possible, to keep you satiated and reduce the risk of mindless eating or binging on high, empty calorie foods! . . 🍗This is why I recommend all my clients include a protein source with each meal, and plenty of vegetables throughout the day. You can make them fit in any calorie scheme and make them wonderful for each and every goal. These two are some great recipes to try. But remember, these are WITHOUT any toppings. So if you want to add any, make sure you add them up and count them towards your daily calorie intake. But here go some recommendations: For fat loss top them off with no calorie syrup, or a little bit of honey and berries, like raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. For weight or muscle gain top them off with honey or peanut butter, extra fruits and nuts. Melted dark chocolate or dark chocolate chips are a great idea as well. Just don’t expect people trying to claim they’ve found something special to stop — it’s on you to be informed.⠀ -⠀ Fortunately you can increase your metabolism.⠀ -⠀ Unfortunately, certain things that sound great, like burning 50 more calories per day by adding a pound of muscle, eating pineapple or whatever special food is being pushed these days, or taking a supplement.⠀ -⠀ Muscle might burn a bit more but the 6-10 calories it seems to is like one decent bite of an apple. Think i’m gunna need a bigger plate 😯🙈 . I get A LOT of comments about the QUANTITY of food I eat. “You’ll never finish all of that....Why do you eat so much food?!...Wow, you must have a big appetite, I could never eat all of that! ” 👀 . Women in particular, have been ‘taught’ to restrict, diet and consume child-like portions of food for decades, in order to stay lean, healthy and not look greedy 🐷 . I’ve definitely been there myself, and combined with a ton of intense workouts 🏃🏻‍♀️this approach resulted in my loosing my period, amongst many other things (energy, hair, clear skin, sense of humour, appetite) 👎🏼 . Now, it’s not all about calories, but healthy food is a lot less calorie dense than junk food, therefore we may need to eat more quality wise in order to meet our caloric and nutrient requirements (and to reach satiety!) 🍎🥑🥦🍋🍒🥩🍳 . My advice to you is, eat real whole foods. Listen to your body. Eat when you’re hungry. Stop eating when you’re full. Don’t compare your plate to someone else’s 🍽👏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️ . Today I’m going to do a 4 part series on how lean people think. This is inspired by an email from @bryankrahn who, in my opinion, is one of the smartest dudes in the industry. - Lean people get attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Actually they get scrutiny. Lots of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s because they’ve got something that most only dream of having – a healthy, strong, desirable body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But with great power comes great responsibility. In this case, being in shape means enduring non-stop questioning from your not-so svelte colleagues. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Do you eat breakfast? Or do you fast? Do you eat carbs? What about fat? Have you ever tried a low sodium, vegetarian, only eat things that are yellow and green diet?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Problem is, all these well meaning people are focusing on just the physical aspects of getting lean. And while diet and exercise are certainly the most important factors, you should also recognize some other things lean folks do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Forget Goals – At Least the Way You Use Them ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The last 10 years has been about the importance of goals. And for good reason – goals give generic dreams purpose by setting a deadline. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For many, an inflexible end date is the missing motivation needed to stop hitting the drive thru and stick to a plan. It will all be over soon enough. Then they can go back to their “normal” life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, lean people don’t think this way. Their “goal” is to be lean and in shape, for life. In fact, the very word “goal” is a misnomer – it’s just who they are. They’re lean and fit. Period. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now they may still use dedicated periods where they turn up the heat and intensify their efforts, but they never shut it all off and abandon everything they’ve been doing. So when you’re lean, there’s no off-season. Just periods where you allow for a little less focus and a little more variety. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stop seeing this process as a “thing” with an end date. The last three mornings I stuck with a consistent plan....super food shake for breakfast... Why?? Because it’s super quick, taste delicious and I’ve noticed my energy levels stay up throughout the long 12 hour shift! Something else I’ve been excited about....no evening cravings. That’s when it hits the most usually. That is when I normally save my shake for to keep from picking. But this new concept seems to be kicking ass. Bonus... Tosta de queso, atún y tomate cherry : Ingredientes : -1 Rebanada de pan integral 🍞🌾 -1 porción pequeña de queso light para untar 🧀 -1 Lata de atún al natural 🐟 -2 tomates Cherry 🍅 -1 pizca de orégano 🍃 Preparación : Untamos el queso sobre la rebanada de pan , colocamos el atún encima, cortamos el tomate en rodajitas pequeñas y las ponemos encima del atún y por último espolvoreamos una pizca de orégano (para darle un toque mediterráneo) y listo!!
