After what I would consider a really bad eating weekend, I love that I can just jump back on my nutrition plan. I regretted some of my food choices, less because they were bad foods, but more because the food just made me feel like crap. Today I had my shake and tea for breakfast, oatmeal and egg whites for brunch, and Im about to eat this delicious looking salad for lunch. **Baby spinach, left over chicken breast, yams, and zucchini from last weeks meal prep, and avocado and pumpkin seeds with fresh lime juice.** Aaaaand, Im almost halfway done with water at about noon! Its amazing how putting proper nutrition into my body for less than 24 hours already has me feeling so much better! No more gas, buh bye bloating!! 💥LOSING FAT BUT NOT WEIGHT?!💥 - 🙄Probably one the top 3 questions people ask me in the DM is “Dennis, I can’t seem to lose weight.. My body changes but my weight doesn’t seem to budge… - My response is this situation most of the time is: “So your body is changing, you’re losing fat but you’re not losing weight? Why would you care about your weight when you’re losing fat?!” - But let’s dive a little deeper into it. What are the reasons you’re losing fat but not weight? - First, you probably gained some muscle mass because you started weight training seriously. If you’re gaining muscle mass, you’re going to gain some weight. Awesome weight!! Muscles!! - Water retention is a big one, eating more sodium and or more carbs in a day than usual will cause your body to hold on to water. But heck, who cares about water weight? I certainly don’t and you shouldn’t too! - You ate later at night than usual. This means you’re getting a distorted view on the scale the next morning because there’s still food in your stomach. You shouldn’t care about that because it’s food. It’s not bodyfat. - And lastly, you might need to take a dump. Go take a shit and step on the scale again. Boom 1-2-3 lbs lost. Nobody cares about that weight. - Main take-away of this post: The scale is a good progress measurement tool, if you know how to use it. Unfortunately most people don’t know how to use it. Today I was asked what it is I do for my “diet” plan to see the results that I have. 🥗 I usually eat 3 meals a day with little healthy snacks in between. 😋 - Let me just say, I really don’t like to use the diet too much because to me that automatically puts in our minds that we have to restrict something. So for my nutrition plan: 🍌🥤🌮 - Let me give you a little rundown . . . 👀 - 1) I always have my superfood shake, every single day #nonnegotiable. It’s usually my breakfast and I will have it with leafy greens, 1 or 2 fruits, sometimes almond butter, and coconut milk. This is packed with essential things to keep my body of track and help me to maintain my results. If you have questions, DM me and I can tell you exactly what’s in it. 🌞🌸 - 2) I eat mostly plant based & gluten free. This has been what has made me feel the best and it may be something different for your body. I find that I cannot process gluten and it will run me down and I will get sick way more easily. Also, dairy does not agree with me and my face with look like a 🍕if I eat a ton of it, so since I know my body doesn’t like it, I just stay away. ✋🏼 - 3) I do eat a little bit of seafood, mostly shrimp and fish, maybe crab & lobster if I’m feeling fancy. 💁🏻‍♀️I find that my body does the best when it has B12 in the form of seafood. I make sure that I buy it from a good source though and I only eat it maybe 3-5 a week. I just listen to my body to see what I need. When I stopped eating land animals in December, my body thanked me immensely. But I started to feel a little weak and incorporated some seafood back into what I eat and this is where I feel my best. 😇🙏
