Being a mom do you sometimes forget to eat? I do it all the time! Which sounds crazy, how do you forget to eat. But it happens. You get going feeding the baby, cleaning up, change a diaper, make a new bottle, switch the laundry, then all of a sudden it’s 2pm and you’re starving. A big adjustment for me was consciously making time for myself and taking care of myself in order to take care of my daughter. A more hearty and fully balanced meal with veggies and proteins always keeps me going so much better than grabbing a bar or making a smoothie. You have to prioritize yourself. These @simplemills breaded chicken fingers are an amazing quick prep that you can make extras of for a meal prep or to grab from the fridge or roll into a wrap. Enjoy! 1/2 c simple mills crackers blended into a fine “flour” 1/4 c coconut flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/4 cup mayo 1 1/2 chicken breasts sliced into strips or about 8 chicken tenerloins Coat chicken in the mayonnaise combine all dry ingredients Dip chicken into dry ingredients and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet Bake chicken at 425 F for 12-15 min. AIP TIP: always make extra! I made these sweet potato & onion rostis as a quick late night snack after a few days away last week. I cooked double the amount I would eat and stashed the rest for emergencies. Tonight I’m back late, hungry, and very glad to be able to pull these out of the fridge. With the long Australia Day weekend coming up there would be a lot of barbecues planned so we need Barbecue Sauce!!!!! Here is a healthier version and one that can be made ahead and kept in the fridge. PALEO WHOLE30 BARBECUE SAUCE AUTHOR: Jay DeMay INGREDIENTS •1 x 170g (approx.) can tomato paste •1 x 400g (approx.) can fire roasted diced tomatoes •1/2 cup coconut vinegar or apple cider vinegar •1/2 cup pitted dates •1/2 cup bone broth or water •1 teaspoon garlic powder •1 teaspoon onion powder •1 teaspoon salt •1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes •1 tablespoon chili powder •1 teaspoon yellow mustard •2 teaspoons smoked paprika •1/2 teaspoon hot sauce optional •3 tablespoons bacon fat or coconut oil INSTRUCTIONS 1.Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and cook on medium for 10 minutes. You want to use a large pan since it will splatter if you use a smaller one. 2.Turn off the heat and blend using an immersion blender. Alternatively, pour into a blender and process until smooth. 3.Continue cooking for another 10 minutes or until desired thickness. If its too thick, add a little broth or water. Its a great day to make soup as we gear up for the weekend snow slam and ski! This is the simplest Pumpkin Chili recipe. Ive made it for years. Who knew 🤷‍♀️ its SCD, PALEO, Mediterranean, and MIND diet! Its loaded with interesting warming spices (cumin, chili powder, cinnamon and nutmeg) and good for your bod vegetables (red onion, garlic, red bell pepper, tomatoes, and pumpkin 👉 antioxidants and phytochemicals). I didnt add pre-cooked shreddded chicken, but some of my clan will at serving time. This recipe is easily adaptable to YOUR preferences. Were serving this with the salmon (see last pic), and Ill post those instructions after a bit more tweaking. • • 👩‍🍳 ■INGREDIENTS • 1 Tbsp coconut oil • 1 medium red onion, dice • 1 red bell pepper, remove seeds, then dice • 1Tbsp chili powder • 1 tsp cumin • 1 tsp oregano • 1/4 tsp cinnamon • 1/8 tsp nutmeg • 2 garlic cloves, dice • 1-16oz pack organic cherry tomatoes, halved • 1-28oz jar organic diced tomatoes • 1-25oz carton organic black beans (for SCD, soak dried beans overnight, rinse then drain. Cook till tender) • 1cup filtered water • 1/2 tsp sea salt • 1/2 tsp black pepper • ■METHOD 1. Fire roast the cherry tomatoes: just coat them with EVOO and add a sprinkle of sea salt. Single layer them on a low sided baking dish. Bake at 375F convection oven for 30 minutes. Keep an eye on them. You just want them to be lightly browned for perfection! • 2. Meanwhile, melt coconut oil in a Dutch cooker. • 3. Add red onion; cook 5 minutes till translucent. • 4. Add red bell peppers, the spices, and garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 5 minutes. • 5. Add fire roasted diced tomatoes, the jared diced tomatoes with juice, black beans, filtered water, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. • 6. Simmer at least 30 min, stirring often. The longer you simmer this soup the more flavorful it becomes. Enjoy! • 👩‍🍳 Chef tip. I dont talk about bakeware often. But I love enameled cast-iron Dutch ovens for making lots of recipes. Its a worthwhile investment because redic delic food results, and youll use it time and time again! Buy namebrand to avoid leaching dyes! • #biomeonboardawaress

I’m sure at some point you or someone you know has received a comment about someone’s weight that was said out of ‘concern for their health’. These comments are not coming from a place of concern or care, they’re coming from a part of them that is fatphobic and has been conditioned to associated fat bodies with bad health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But for arguments sake, let’s just say that having extra fat on the body did cause chronic illness. MACROS 🥑🥔🍗 WHAT ARE THEY ? Macros is the short term for macronutrients which consist of fats, protein and carbohydrates. Fats- often seen as a bad thing, fats are essential in the diet and are needed for hormone health, brain function, nutrient absorption, and much more. The important part to remember is to get your fats from healthy sources! This means avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds- NOT ❌ from trans fats which are found in processed and packaged foods. Roughly 1 gram of fat per kg of body weight is recommended. Protein- essential for so many things, not just building muscle. Aim for at least 1.5 grams of protein per kg of body weight (this amount will change depending on your training goals) Carbohydrates- are your body’s primary fuel source and limiting them can limit your performance potential in the gym. Do not fear carbs, carbs are your friend 🙌🏻 once protein and fats are calculated the calories left are used for carbs Calculating macros will be different for everyone as it depends on goals and training.

Little Mashies Cultured Carrots (full recipe littlemashies.com) Ingredients: 6-8 organic carrots, sliced into sticks 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced 2 fresh kaffir lime leaves, stalks removed 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated 20g celtic sea salt 1L filtered water Method Step 1: Add the salt to the water to make the brine mixture. For firm vegetables we always make a 2% brine, but it is acceptable to make it anywhere between 2-3.5%. Stir to dissolve the salt and set the mixture to the side. Step 2: Wash carrots, remove stems and slice them into 0.5cm thick sticks. It’s great if you can cut them so that they are about an inch or so under the height of the mason jar. Step 3: Add the garlic, ginger and kaffir lime leaves to the bottom of the mason jar. Step 4: Arrange the carrot sticks in a vertical fashion inside the jar. Your aim is to squeeze in as many sticks as possible so that they are all wedged in tightly and unable to come loose. Step 5: Pour the brine into the jar, covering the carrots and filling to about 1 inch below the top of the jar. (Head to littlemashies.com for rest of the recipe)

Friday favorite! Who else loves @drbronner Castile Soap, and what’s your favorite use for it? We’ve used it for years, but I was first introduced to it for cleaning my freshly pierced nose 😂. Celebrated the end of the longest week ever win this absolute WIN 😍 A blend this good deserves an impromptu photo shoot so that’s exactly what I did #starstruck To make this amazing “ice-cream” just blend ~3/4 cup thick coconut milk 1 frozen banana 🍌 3/4 cup frozen mixed berries 1 scoop @thrivemkt collagen powder Blend on medium-high for 45 seconds and enjoy!
