Back To Basics Planking Towards A stronger Core. 👉The simplest exercises are often the most beneficial. 💪The plank can be done by almost every one, It will build a strong core when practiced regularly. Having a strong core is the foundation for all movement it allows the spine to move freely and generate dynamic movement through the neuromuscular system. A strong adaptable core also protects the spine during trauma such as an accident and reduces the risk of injury and constant back pain. 👉Often we are bombarded with very technical and advanced exercises on social media. Multi Dimensional Movement/Chest Press-Flyes 💥This exercise combines a rotational pressing movement through the transverse plane with an Abduction-Adduction movement through the transverse plane. 💣By combining these 2 movements our kinesthetic intelligence brain body connection is challenged as the arms travelling in different directions under load is something we rarely if ever programme in to our training schedule. Sunday Cardio And Technical Practice 🎯The focus today was on staying relaxed with my hands covering my face on every kick. 🥊Before I started training with the best there is @mcsweeneymma @mcsweeney_martial_arts around 6 weeks ago I had a very bad habit of dropping my hands on kicks and bouncing my hands around a lot due to pent up energy. ⚡In just a very short time working with James I am seeing positive improvements in both my technique and a reduction in bad habits that were not addressed with regular pad work etc. 👊It is still very early days and I have a lot more to learn but with James passion for the sport and fine attention to detail every session he coaches me I improve a little bit more. Suffering From Poor Posture And Or Neck/Back Pain? 👉The high rope pull is a very beneficial exercise that targets the upper back, rear deltoids, arms, core and grip strength. 💪Here we are working on a slow eccentric release and isometric hold to the get the maximum neuromuscular reponse possible with the minimum load factor. 👉By using a rope full ROM range of movement is achieved as the hands can be pulled wide and proceed past the ribcage, allowing maximum scapulae retraction and activation of the muscular tissue in the posterior chain back of the body 💪The strong requirement to grip the rope encourages optimum sensory feedback from the fingers meaning that the CNS central nervous system fully engages due to the stimulus of heavy gripping which also make this a great exercise to light up the hands and forearms. 🤲Many of us have weak grip strength and often as a result undue stress is placed upwards along the kinetic chain in to the shoulders and neck causing tightness and discomfort. 👍Try this exercise today and let me know how it goes. Chasing the sun ☀️ 🏃‍♂️Are You Sprinting? 💪A small clip of @kiz909 sprint focused training session today. 🏍Sprinting is a primal movent that we are hardwired to do. 🦁Until only a few hundred years ago we was not the top of the food chain as many predators such as lions etc would prey on us for food. 🦖Our minds and bodies react very aggresively to sprinting as it is perceived as fight or flight by the CNS meaning that our brain thinks we are in a fight to survive by either being chased by a predator or we are chasing a prey animal for food. 💪Sprinting will build a strong athletic frame while burning fat and increasing lean muscle mass. 👉A good alterative to full road sprints if you have injuries, major body mechanical issues and or are heavily overweight would be to do low impact sprints on a cross trainer or use agility ladders etc to have the same flight or fight reaction without the impact and risks involved with full sprints. Twins Look The Same But Often Have Very Different Training Needs👥 Flashback To One Of My Heavy Weightlifting Phases In Melbourne, tipping the scales at around 91Kg. 👉All training is good training as long as it is Smart training that is beneficial to your goals bringing results not pain and injuries. 💪In this picture I was very fixated on getting big and strong and from that one minded focus some rather serious imbalances occured. 🏋️‍♂️Martial arts, weightlifting, calisthenics, yoga, HIIT training etc all have positives and negatives. No individual training system is superior. 🤸‍♀️Dependant upon your goals find a balance of training that suits your current conditioning and body mechanics. 🔥If you currently have an injury and or major imbalance heavy weightlifting is probally not going to be beneficial and at the opposite end of the scale if you are very weak and in need of becoming stronger maybe weightlifing not dance and HITT is more of what you need in your programme. ⚡We are all individuals find what works for you and go for it. Feeling Tight And Immobile? Lacking Strength And Power? 👉There are two primary movement systems of the human body. 💪No 1. The concentric muscular system. This system relies on muscular contractions to shorten the connecting ligaments and tendons thus providing stable controlled movement of the joints to lift moderate/ heavy loads. 🏋️‍♀️This system is designed to be used when we are lifting moderate to heavy loads such as a back squat or deadlift etc for low repetitions at slow speeds with the aim being maximal strength progression. 💥This system fatigues very rapidly but it is very efficient when being used for what it is designed for. 👉The problem is we tend to overuse this system partly due to poor movement mechanics and or short, tight tissues within the body and with overuse the connective tissues become tighter and tighter causing inflammation. 💥No 2. The Myofascial recoil system. This system relies on lengthening of the fascia connective tissues that encase the muscles storing kinetic energy and releasing it at speed thus producing rapid movement of the joints. 💣This system is designed to be used for bodyweight/light loaded movements such as push ups and martial arts etc with the aim being speed and power generation. 🤸‍♂️This system is very efficient as it uses very little energy and does not fatigue rapidly.
