We got a new car! Well not new new, but new to us and I love it ☺️ I finally have a car with a sunroof again (not that I used the last one much 😂😂). I just like having the option. And the girls were so excited when I picked them up after school in it! They were so surprised to see the new car (i kept it a surprise). Their excitement just made me feel so good! Like I was a kid again 😂😂It’s so nice to look at something you’ve been working towards and to know I’ve worked hard for it. It’s so rewarding to see your hard work pay off! I can’t wait to set my next goal and start working towards it! . . What goals are you working towards?

Welp, she’s still in there for now, so a quick back and bicep workout was knocked out by me, Pete, and the bump! Loving the format of these lifting workouts, and still feeling burn even tho I’m not lifting heavy right now. . I’d be lying if I said getting up outta bed these days was easy. But I’m always glad I do! . Because it’s more-so a routine now. Energy flows where your focus goes. And when you focus and envision how you plan to run your day - you can make things happen. . So turn those, “I’ll try’s” into “I will’s”. And you WILL! 👊🏼

I may not be at my goal weight. I may still struggle with looking at my own reflection I may still want to press that snooze button over and over to squeeze those extra minutes of sleep I may still want to reward myself with delicious gooey food But I am stronger than I was and tomorrow I will be stronger than I am today. I know in 58 days my future self is going to be so glad that I didnt press snooze or give in to an emotional response for food. I know my future self is going to be closer to that goal and feel happier to see that reflection looking back at her. So many of us put the decision to make a change off to next week, next month, or just whenever. There is a reason why gyms are the busiest on a Monday and quiet by the end of the week. I know personally I have started and failed so many diets and workout programs I have lost count!! What a J•O•U•R•N•E•Y this is! Upper left is from a year ago before we found out we were pregnant, when I was counting macros and spending 2 hours a day running/in the gym. Lower left is about 36 weeks pregnant, after being on restricted activity for 8 weeks and eating all. the. carbs. Physically, these pics both had a time and place...but this #transformationtuesday is more about my mental journey than anything else. 2 hours in the gym and religiously counting macros was fine when I had the time, but as a busy momma, I HAD to change my mindset to something more sustainable!! 30 min workouts at home, easy superfoods every morning, and nutrition packed meals throughout the day that focus on content over quantity...THIS is sustainable, even as a busy, working momma with a 3.5m old little one! And my mind is in the right place...focused on being healthy for my daughter and family...not beating myself up about going over carbs or being under my proteins...not feeling like it’s all or nothing. And having a TRIBE of positive and supportive ladies behind me on this journey keeps me accountable and moving forward. I could not be happier that I found this BALANCED lifestyle that I know is SUSTAINABLE 💕and it doesn’t hurt that I’m down 2lbs from last week even with a weekend vacay 😉Seriously, I’m in love with this journey! I debated whether or not to upload these pictures; they’re both a mini victory and a sign of how I want to improve my body. I tried this dress on a couple of weeks ago (maybe 5 weeks post partum) and it was way too tight. Now at 8 weeks post partum it feels more comfortable and I’ve been comfortable enough to wear it. Feel like making a conscious effort with my food plus starting #90daysss has made me feel much better about myself already. However, as you can see from the third picture, I still have a way to go. When I press the dress to my body, I still look pregnant and I feel awful. Yes, I’m only 8 weeks post partum. But that doesn’t stop me feeling bad about the way I look. I’ve also seen and heard quite a lot of negativity in regards to exercising so soon after having a baby, not directed at me but general comments like ‘oh I chose to spend time with my baby rather than exercise’ and ‘it’s not the most important thing, you have to prioritise your baby’. Comments like these just make me so angry. I’ve been working out for 25 mins when my baby is asleep (as much as I can - you know how they like to be unpredictable!!) or when my husband gets in from work and is spending time with him. It’s so important to feel good about yourself and to look after your mental wellbeing, that it’s important as a new mum to take some time for yourself and not feel too guilty about that because you deserve it. I’ve also heard comments like ‘you’re a size 8 you don’t need to lose weight’. WRONG. It doesn’t matter what size clothes you wear, it’s about how you feel. Negative comments like that aren’t helpful and actually shame people of a certain size. Well this is a vulnerable post 😆 The end of my 80 day program, vs today. I’ve let myself slide on my nutrition more than I should have. And I probably shouldn’t have taken this photo right after returning from a week long vacation either 🤷🏻‍♀️🤨 But this goes to show that I’m a real person. I like cookies and pizza and s’mores as much as anyone else 🍪 🍕 🍫 It doesn’t always come easy for me just because I’m a fitness fanatic. This is also proof that working out doesn’t get you to your goals without the nutrition aspect also being there ... because I have kept up with most of my workouts, even on vacation. It’s hard for me to stay on track with nutrition if I’m not following a program. The last month or so I’ve just been doing different workouts and not really following a plan. I’m ready to get back on track! One month postpartum... yesterday I returned to the gym but only because my body feels like it can! Light exercise only! I managed 10mins cross trainer, 10mins bike, 10mins incline walk on the treadmill, light dumbbell arm and shoulder session and stretched post work out. 9mths of carrying my gorgeous boy and having 4weeks rest has made me lose muscle and increase in fat! I have “love handles”, “lose skin”, “squidgey belly” and “thunder thighs” but this is DAY1.😊 so looking forward to the results over the coming months and I love a challenge 💪🏽 Today my body feels good!! For me personally I have been so gentle with myself, I have had more harmony in my life then ever before, I choose to be healthy with my daily movement, my nutrition choices, my mindfit, my soul food, I am in no rush to train how I use to because my life isn’t how it use to be, those that know me well know I love to lift heavy and go hard 🏋️‍♀️💪 will I go back to that, maybe/maybe not, I did honestly enjoy it though not in any rush and I am detached from how I use to be. Good morning, fitfam! How do you get through a particularly challenging workout or an uphill while running? I am hugely dependent on music. I love music and I though I would share a snippet of my Workout Playlist on Deezer. Music is so important to my state of mind. It can put me in a good mood, it can make me run a little faster when Im starting to get tired and it can help me finish that last set strong. My taste in music is very diverse, but one commonality is the beat. I need a good beat to get me going. Tuesdays are leg days and leg days are the best days and this one did not disappoint. Still doing the same workout as last week, so Bulgarian split squats, single leg RDLs, jumping lunges and jump squats, and we never forget deadlifts. The only thing Im doing different is slowly increasing the weights and thats making all the difference.
