It’s insane. # The reason why it’s so important to safeguard your attitude and the state you are in at any given moment is this: # When you see the world around you in a positive lens, your imagination can run freely. Your ability to solve not your own, but other people’s problems goes through the roof. # Just by being in a positive state, you’re opening up pathways in your brain that allow you be more efficient, more effective, and an overall better person. Embarrassing pic 🙈 . Everyone starts out somewhere . No one is perfect no matter if they make it seem like they are . Don’t believe them . Now this may not seem like you’re average transformation that you’re used to seeing. Where there is a dramatic difference. . But it’s still a transformation and it’s MINE and everyone’s is different. There’s a lot that goes behind, not just physically but mentally too. . I have always compared myself to others how I haven’t changed that much. Because I see all these transformations with a huge difference, from overweight to shredded or skinny to muscular and so on. . But to be honest I don’t know everything that they have done to get there. I started going to the gym years ago but was never really committed 💯 I would go and that was about it. I paid little attention to my nutrition and honestly working out and nutrition go hand in hand. You can’t do one or the other. You have to do both. . Until now I’ve been more consistent with everything and it is now that I’ve seen more progress. . My journey has been a roller coaster, where my weight has gone and up down but never consistent with what I was doing, til now. I’m trying to be more. . Regularly checking your body fat, muscle mass and body weight are important tools used for tracking progression HOWEVER, I want to preach to y’all to NOT OBSESS!! I have clients regularly disappointed in themselves because they aren’t making enough progress (in their eyes) or making progress fast enough. (According to the numbers mentioned above). But y’all, listen here: these pictures are 1 year apart. My weight is the same & my body fat percentage is the same... and this whole time the numbers not budging made me feel like I had forever plateaued. I don’t have all the scientific reasoning, I can’t tell you where your body will respond or how fast BUT I can give you 3 things to track your progress OUTSIDE of just numbers: ⭐️ Take pictures! Seriously, I recommend all of my clients take progress pictures even if they don’t show them to me. You will notice things you don’t notice on the day to day. ⭐️ How are your clothes fitting? Do you feel sexier and more confident? Are those pants finally fitting right? Those all equal success! Be proud of that. ⭐️ Focus on your progressions within your workouts. Perhaps your weight lifted is increasing. Maybe you’re able to sustain your workouts for 10 minutes longer. If you’re crazy enough, maybe you’re finally enjoying burpees!? As a society, we are driven by SEEING the change and we want it NOW. But start shifting that mindset & get unique with tracking your progress. I struggled with this one. Body was beat up and had a TON of shit on my mind. I wanted to also show that its ok to fail and back off. Its ok to give yourself a few days to rest and clear your mind and let the body heal. Its ok to let yourself fail once in awhile Thats how you learn. Ive struggled with this throughout my lifetime. Im extremely hard on myself and I always expect perfection everytime I do something. Im very hard on myself and Im learning Thats its ok to fail. We all do. I hit 500 easily a few weeks before and I couldnt do it this time and believe me I was extremely upset in myself. I even hurt myself a little bit and was down about it. But Im picking up the pieces and moving forward and learning that its a process. Even I need to learn that as I help and teach others that. Love to learn. Last week I showed you my plan to “Maintain not Gain” over the holidays. I missed a few workouts because of illness (mine and the kids), but I’ve still shown up everyday in my motivation group with Katie, with my nutrition, and with my shake. And as a result, I’m down 1lb since last Monday! I’d say mission accomplished for week 1!⁣ ⁣ Life happens and I have the same struggles that everyone has with time constraints, illness, temptations, and motivation, etc. However, I show up every day and I control the things that are under my control the best that I can because I have made goals for myself and I don’t want to let myself down. That is consistency! People tend to be impatient when it comes to exercise. Too many times people do not give their training programs enough time to reap the benefits they are looking for. - No matter what we do in life we will not achieve the success we want unless we work at it day in and day out for months and months. The same goes for your exercise programs. So... I’ve been feeling a bit stressed lately. In the past overwhelm created a lot of anxiety that lead to complete loss of appetite, chain smoking, withdrawal from life, and generally low energy and low motivation. 👉 Nowadays, there are many tools I have for getting out of the stress loop, one of them being exercise. One of the many things I can do for myself when I’m feeling overwhelmed is to get out and exercise. 👉 The connection between physical health and mental/emotional health is undeniable. 😌🙌🏻🙌🏻 👉 The picture is before and after a workout. You can see that there’s been a shift. And believe me - I could feel it! 👉 The answer to overcoming stress is not to suppress or deny it, but to collect a ‘toolbox’ of things that make you feel good and help to flush out the stress.
