Todays session: 1 ¼ Bench - 4x6 @90kgs (70%) Close Grip Bench - 4x10 Lunges - 3x10 Banded Single Leg Extension - 3x12 Bar Roll Outs - 3x12 Hollow Hold - 4x60 seconds (actually turned into 8x30 seconds as it is graft) I then added in a few crunches (3x20) and a little visit to the Arm Farm. HOW TO BARBELL SQUAT by @online.fitness.coach . . Follow me @online.fitness.coach for more daily fitness videos like this! . Begin with the barbell resting across the top of your upper traps. Your chest should be up and your head facing forward. Feet should be roughly shoulder-width apart with the toes slightly facing outward. . One common beginner mistake is squatting straight down while trying to keep the torso perpendicular to the ground, which can place a lot of stress on the knees and lower back. . What you should try to do instead is sit back as you squat down which will allow you to center the weight over your midfoot-to-heel as you go through the movement. Think of sitting back into a chair. . As you do this, keep your weight in your heels, and maintain a very slight lean forward while keeping your head up, chest up, pushing your knees outward, and keeping your core tight. This will give you more stability in your hips when you are driving the weight back up. . Come down as deep into the squat as your flexibility allows, then drive straight through the heels and return to the starting position. . Repeat for desired number of reps. . I hope this helps. Capstone ride yesterday in preparation for #IMCanada: 6 hours with 8.3k feet of climbing and 2x25 minutes in the last 90 minutes. This was my longest ride of the year, since I dont do a lot of volume, and I really enjoyed the big time in the saddle like I used to as a cyclist. My normalized power was 247 and I burned 5,000 kjs, meaning I have an extra large appetite today. Throughout my personal experience, one of the biggest problems I witness in the fitness/dieting industry is people forgetting they have to actually put in the work. • They think that just because they paid a coach to give them a meal plan or macro plan or workout plan and whatever plan, they assume they’re automatically going to lose the weight and reach their goals. • The truth is though, is that you could have the best coach or the best workout plan, and STILL not get results. Hell you could even have a naturally great running metabolism but if you don’t take advantage of it, it’s pointless. • There are hundreds of ways to diet, workout, and just “do fitness” in general, but nothing is going to work for you if you don’t do YOUR part. • Regardless of what type of diet you’re following (clean eating, keto, flexible dieting, etc.), YOU still have to plan out what foods you’re going to cook, YOU have to actually cook them, YOU have to weigh them on the scale properly, and YOU still have to adhere to the plan consistently. • Rather you’re doing full body workouts, DUP style training, Crossfit, HIIT, Kickboxing, etc…YOU still have to show up consistently, work hard and make an effort. Just going through the motions of the “perfect plan” won’t get you to your goals. • Just a thought, but maybe we should seek less *Information* and work a little harder on actual *Implementation*… • Thoughts? 👇🏼

Im proud of the physique I maintain throughout the year but its time to stop being satisfied and challenge myself a little more. Ive altered my weekly routine from lifting 6 days a week with one day of cardio and additional cardio slipped in whenever Im in the mood after lifting, to 4 days of lifting followed by 15-20 of cardio and 3 days dedicated to cardio only. It’s summer time and the abs are out. Those that have been putting in the work in the gym and eating right all winter can now flaunt what they have. Admittedly, vanity comes part in parcel with wellness, but it’s also an indication that a commitment to health and longevity is being made. While a flat stomach looks good, it also indicates the healthy biochemistry that lends itself to a healthy long life, likely to stave off diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol and all of the associated diseases - heart attacks, stroke and cancer. At the very least, be accountable for your health because of the loved ones that depend on you. We only get one body!
