lately i have found myself missing simpler times. i have been feeling all sort of emotions this week. most of them have been kind of heavyyyy, man. feeling sad, frustrated, stressed, overwhelmed, etc. part of it is just that time of the semester when things get kicked into overdrive, and part of it is just life. and sometimes life is hard, and its hard to get yourself out of bed to go forward with your day, and its hard to focus, and its hard to keep your shit together, and its hard to be a functioning human being. heavy feelings are apart of this deal we get. when i have these weeks i really try and put my focus onto something else, something better. i remember things that make me happy, and it helps for a minute or two, but eventually the emotions come back. and what i’ve realized this week, is that the most comforting thing to do when i feel heaviness is to just feel it. to let it sit with me and to try to understand it. work through it myself, and get to the root of it. maybe you will and maybe you won’t get to the bottom of it, that’s not really the point. the point is to just allow yourself the space to feel what you are feeling, and to remember that it will pass, and life will get lighter. you’ll stop feeling heavy and it will get easier again.

I’ve been tired! Not just sleepy (because #momminainteasy )but that tired that goes deep into your soul. Mentally, emotionally, physically, all the ways! Tired and in need of rest. . However, sometimes we have to wait. When we have jobs to be done, kids to care for, we can’t always call a TO. The breakup in my schedule, rest🤩, is coming soon but in the meantime, I’ve had to get creative. . Asking for more help than I normally do. Not completing every single task as quickly and timely as I’d like. Going to bed early and with a dirty kitchen😬I know, that’s a hard one.... But friends! We cannot do ALL THE THINGS ALL THE TIME. But we also can’t throw in the towel to our lives! We must find balance. . Just a little OMG moment 🤩 I wore these jeans to a christmas party last year. I remember I almost didn’t go because I felt like I had nothing to wear that fit me. These jeans were the only thing that fit in my wardrobe but they were sooo tight and gave me mad muffin top. I had to pair these jeans with an oversized shirt to hide the muffin top. I was so miserable the whole night because I was so uncomfortable inside and out. Now here we are. The journey has been up and down and a lot of learning. Am I where I thought I’d be? No. But I am embracing the journey and learning at every moment. I need to be reminded on the daily that I have come so far because DAMN.

Yesterday, I had pancakes for breakfast, a big grain bowl for lunch, and then a cup of hot coco + half of this LOADED ricotta toast (fresh homemade sourdough, whipped ricotta, and a fresh fruit compote from @lodgebreadco) as a mid afternoon snack. I write about balance so much on here, but I don’t think I’ve had a day where I’ve eaten “like this” in so long. What I mean by that is I’m usually very particular about not having too much sugar across various meals- if I know I’m going out to dinner, I’ll make sure to moderate my sugar intake throughout the day, so I will enjoy my dessert. And this works for me! I don’t think there is anything wrong with this, considering I tend to feel sick from too much sugar. The problem is if it becomes restrictive 🙅🏼‍♀️ Yesterday, I wanted pancakes for breakfast, so I made them 😊 And come mid afternoon, I was really craving a hot chocolate- not anything super sweet, just something to satisfy the lil voice in my head. So I got one!! I even asked them to make it a lot less sweeter than they normally would, so I would actually enjoy the drink. I wondered if I would wake up feeling guilty or sick. My stomach definitely doesn’t feel AMAZING right now, but I satisfied my cravings and enjoyed myself 😍

Does anyone else have different categories for their sports bras or is it just me?!? 🙈 So I’m obsessed with these bras - they’re only $20 which means I’ve amassed quite the collection - and I have 3 totally neurotic categories for them😬: first there are the bras I actually workout in...these I remove the pads and wear the straps crossed in the back for a little more support; then there are the bras I sleep in and/or wear around the house....these also have the pads removed but the straps are straight; and then there are the “fancy” bras...these have the pads in and are reserved for the patterns/colors I want to show off!
