One of The biggest mistakes fat-thomas made back in the day (and I made a lot 🤣) was thinking that some foods were magically going to make me gain weight & others were magically going to make me lose weight. Like a grape-fruit was just sooo “fat-burning” and eating one slice of pizza was going to instantly make me gain fat😢 - Are there some foods that are more beneficial than others for different types of goals/preferences? yes!👍 But let’s not get caught up in the black & white thinking towards food👎 When you start gaining awareness about the calorie/macronutrient content in the foods you are Eating, often times, you’ll by default choose the “healthy” option 9/10 times. It’s like: you know that if you have the pizza it won’t ruin ur progress and u can fit it in, but u also know that sweet potatoes and chicken breast (“nutritious foods”) will fill u up much more for the same amount of cals. That’s why i think it is beneficial for a lot of people to level up their knowledge about calories (doesn’t mean you have to track everything) bc u can get to a place where u appreciate foods like pizza and ice-cream etc. bc u know that they won’t ruin your progress so u don’t feel guilty after eating them. Today I want to spotlight one of my @ado_fitness clients. Earlier this year she underwent a hysterectomy and is a full time stay at home mom of 2 children. She has shown me just how determined she is to reach her goals; more-so now than ever! _ She came to me with the goals of finding a sustainable nutrition plan to keep her healthy and happy while also losing inches from her lower body. While we cant spot train certain areas of the body or choose where our body burns fat, we CAN teach the body how to utilize a healthy caloric intake while losing inches/body fat. _ Originally, she had estimated that she was taking in around 1,400 calories - 150g carbs. After I had her track a normal day of eating we discovered she had low balled her intake on accident (happens quite often). After looking at her sample tracked day I decided her body needed more fuel so, I raised her protein and carbs. She is now consuming 50g more of carbs and 35g more of protein daily! _ Weight - she is down 3lbs but her composition changes makes this look like a whole lot more! Hips - down almost 3 inches Waist - down almost 3 inches Thighs - down 1.5 inches _ Her determination, consistency and drive is whats keeping her on track and is what will bring results! Can you lose weight from working out without dieting? - 🤔For some people, it’s easier to go to the gym than it is to turn down a third second piece of cup cake. - 🔎In a recent study from Arizona State University, 81 healthy but sedentary overweight women did 30 min. of treadmill walking three times per week for 12 weeks. Researchers tracked the exact calories each women burned. As for diet though, it was kind of free for all: The women were told not to change their diets throughout the study, and they didn’t have to log what they ate - 🤓Without a doubt, the exercise improved participants’ fitness levels, but interestingly, extra exercise didn’t help everyone lose weight, or body fat, or inches from the waist regardless of how many calories the women burned. - What’s more, nearly 70% of subjects gained weight during the study, and most of that weight gain was from body fat🤭😢 - The bottom line is that exercise, alone, won’t help you lose weight. I finally broke into the 170s today 🙌🏼🙌🏼. . Three weeks until Ev turns a year {insert sobbing mess over here} and I have been busting my butt since 4 weeks postpartum. . But my body has been fighting back like crazy. None the less — I’ve continued to show up daily, not skip workouts and keep going. . Today I say 178 which I haven’t seen since I was 5-6 months pregnant! I also haven’t seen the 170s in FOREVER. . You better believe I celebrated. . Closer to my goal one day at a time, one workout at a time!

There is something to be said about training in a room full of people who are absolutely killing the game. This morning’s 5:15am Varsity session was insane!!! The class was full to the brim and everyone came in ready to work! 💪🏼 Now anyone who knows me knows that I love 💕 music and will find any opportunity to have a little dance. It’s finally Friday and my god is it just me that felt like this week has dragged on waay too long😩😂 So excited to just chill without chemistry overloading my brain capacity tonight..💆🏼‍♀️🙌🏼😂 • Anyways, so far 4 days down training some form of legs each day (I’m experimenting). So far my week consisted of: 🌿Monday: Hip Thrust focused (with some single leg work. 🌿Tuesday: Squats on smith machine (with bodyweight thrusts). 🌿Wednesday: Romanian Deadlift focused. 🌿Thursday: Leg press focused (with some calves and quads on leg extension). • Today I’m going to focus on free weight squats or sumo deads🤔🤔(haven’t decided yet/ maybe both). Been a while😇but more a fuller leg day. Usually i train legs 2 times a week, but I’m switching things up this week and enjoying focusing on 1/2 exercises! This mainly means i put all my energy and focus onto that main leg exercise, instead of fatiguing after a few & half-arsing the rest of my workout. So I’m just gonna see how this goes! But will try 3 leg days a week i think from next week.🤗 imma see what I’m liking and responding to best.💪🏼But really want to increase my frequency and decrease the amount i do in just two leg days so i can really preform to my best on each exercise.🤪🤪 • Have a boss Friday.💕
