The scales have not budged since the start of the month, or at least not as significantly as the last three months. I think I have hit my first plateau. Ah the plateaus, the mythical plateaus I have read so much about, I have been anticipating you, and now you have arrived. The apathy, the disappointment and frustration that comes with it, is annoyingly consuming. . Then you know what? I thought, I have been on track for three months thus far, being focused. But for the past two weeks there has been this niggling mini robot in my head that just switched the flick back to my unmotivated, slob self, and the CARBS OH MY GOD CARBS, is all I can think about. For some reason, I think my body, and most certainly my mind, might want some friggin carbs. . Let me see, what better way to seek carbs than to visit my good friend D. Shell know where help me find some. And so I went to this Persian restaurant, and I got my carbs. White rice. Bread. Potato salad. Lots...of potato salad. . I have a smile on my face tonight and thats all that matters 👌 . And now to get back on it and push through this plateau (what an irritating word 😷). Also just to make it clear, my diet does not consist of cutting out carbs, just a reduction to about 120-160g per day. Two fried eggs 😋 Had yet another good eating day. I also had a good weigh in as well. Tonight I am going to see a movie and everything in me wants to smash a bunch of buttered popcorn but I can’t do that and ruin my progress. What I decided to do is bring in some portioned out pretzels to snack on because this way I still get a snack while I watch but it allows me to not go hard and eat too much. Plus I am not too bummed because pretzels are a great snack 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just have had so much progress on the scale and don’t want to slip up! - Also I had a weak moment today where a classmate of mine offered me a cupcake and I took it. But after having it sit there in front of me I realized I want my goals more than I wanted that cupcake and so I decided not to eat it. This was hard since I have a huge sweet tooth. Travel...it scares the bajeezees out of me! Meeting new people...makes me SUPER anxious! Putting myself out there...makes my heart pound way too fast! . . So you guys get it, I have anxiety and dont like to leave the comfort of my own home...so what?! . . When I start to get anxious about traveling, doing new things, meeting new people, I work hard to focus on what is going to happen on the other side of that fear, instead of what will happen with it. Maybe I get to go to a cool place, meet a future best friend, or like today...get to go spend a weekend with 500+ other amazing boss babes to learn how to be a better entrepreneur and women. . . So now to the point...sometimes we have to use the visualization of whats sitting on the other side of our fears and anxieties to get ourselves there. . . If FEAR is the only thing standing between you right now and where you want to be, whether a huge life changing event, or becoming the best and healthiest version of yourself, why wouldnt you tell fear to knock it the F off, and go bounding to your destination on the other side? . . We all have fears. But those who face their fears and get BRAVE are the ones who reach their destination. . . There is nothing,but my perseverance and discipline that wake me up at 4 a.m. EVERY SINGLE DAY whether I received 6 hours of sleep or two hours of sleep. If you knew me,you would know that I hit weights in the morning 6 days a week with my squad or by myself, and you would know I train twice a week with a personal trainer whom I’ve trained with for now almost two years, you would also know I never go a day without hitting at least two workouts, and many times 3. There isn’t someone pushing me to keep focusing on grip, form, and push heavier weight. Old habits die hard and when I have a choice between chicken, rice, and veggies versus the pizza...in EVERY single instance... I will ALWAYS want the pizza and I will always feel guilty when I eat it. Lately, there have been many talking negatively about my fitness journey and how I obtained a leaner and more muscular body. If you know me... you know I’m one of the most dedicated people you will ever meet. You will know that I have sacrificed family and friends to get myself healthy, you will know I don’t drink, party, or indulge (unless it’s chocolate covered pretzels). If you knew me, you would know my life can almost be a Shakespearean tragedy and that fitness is my life because it is my therapy. If you knew me, you would know that there was a time I wanted to kill myself because of the anger and pain I continue to endure till this very day. The truth... many don’t know me. Most consider me awkward because I don’t make friends, I trust very few, and I mind my own business. This is my therapy. So, if you find yourself questioning how someone else is getting results...the question should be... why aren’t I getting results? We all struggle, but we have to put in the work to see the result we are looking for. D I N N E R : Mmmm love this meal. This is a slight variation on a dish from the September @ww.uk magazine that we originally had last month and loved it but this time Ive changed some of the ingredients around to suit what we had in so this is Chicken wrapped in bacon with a sage and cheese sauce with brocolli and new potatoes. The cheese sauce tastes so indulgent and is so easy to make. Yum.
