Dear internet: I gained 30 pounds. ... I’m not trying to hide it, I’m not ashamed of it, I may not be ecstatic about it (ideally I would like to get back to 165) but this is where my weight is at currently and I’ve finally learned to be OK WITH IT 🙌🏻 ... This isn’t me “giving up:” if I had given up I wouldn’t have set my alarm for 4:30AM this morning so I could crush an amazing leg day workout and still have time to cook my veggie egg white omelette for breakfast. This is merely where I am in life right now and I’m content with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ ... I’ve been “skinny” and I’ve been “fat” before and now I’m just me 😊 I’m still down 70 pounds from my heaviest weight but I have learned this past year that I have SO MUCH MORE to offer the world than just what that number on the scale says. ... This week marked my 5 year anniversary from when I first started trying to lose weight and I have a really long blog post going up tomorrow talking more about my past and my vision for my future going forward. Honesty time: Ive been struggling recently with my body. . I have maintained my weight loss for over 2 years now, with a couple blips of small regain (less than 10lbs) that I quickly get off. I comfortably wear most small or medium tops, but pants I wear anything ranging from 8-12, just depending on the cut and brand (I definitely still carry the most of my weight in my legs, and have a good amount of skin on my lower stomach/thighs.) . I have been decently happy with my body for the last 2 years. Of course there is always a nagging well, losing 10 more pounds would be better... but these last couple of years have been balanced - which you guys see! I travel and eat any food I want, I drink, I never limit my experiences. I balance that with making good choices most of the time, always keeping an eye on portions, and trying to stay generally active. Besides those blips where I am trying to lose a couple pounds to get back to my comfy zone - I dont stress about the gym or counting my calories. I simply use them as tools for keeping me on track and mentally and emotionally healthy. . Im struggling right now with feeling happy with my body currently, but feeling like I should be wanting more. I recently unfollowed a few accounts that made me feel less than for not dedicating myself to the fit life. They werent giving me what I needed anymore, and were truly only filling my negative self talk. There is a lot of upheaval in my life right now, and a lot of upcoming changes and goals that I need to focus on. While I need to prioritize my health - Im stuck struggling with the thought if maintaining is okay, or if I should be striving and pushing for more. . So. If that keeps nagging me, but I keep feeling like active change isnt healthy right now, I need to find another goal. I have been doing C25k again, but not hard core. Maybe this means I really jump back into it to get back to running. I dont really know. But I want to be open with you guys that this is weighing on my mind right now, and I dont exactly know where to go from here. . Thanks for reading my ramble and being there for me. 💕

#transformationtuesday I’ve been feeling really happy lately, and it has nothing to do with the transformation in my weight, but more from the transformation in my MINDSET. This week is the 5 year anniversary of my weight loss journey. Literally 5 years ago, that Monday was my day 1 where I weighed in at 246 pounds and decided it was time to change my life. A whole heck of a lot of things have changed over those 5 years, and I’m working on a full blog post to go live this week where I basically word vomit a whole lot about my progress specifically this last year and my overall journey. I’m not 246 pounds anymore, but I’m also not 146 pounds anymore. Luckily for me this past year has taught me so much about how much LIFE there is out there to live: the value of accepting and loving yourself every step of the way: the necessity for working hard but also the necessity for REST and balance in life: the knowledge that a new low number on the scale will not make you a better person and doesn’t automatically guarantee happiness. I’m so happy to say I am NOTHING like the girl I was 5 years ago and have made so many lifestyle changes to live a balanced life that I truly LOVE living now! But, 28 year old me is also nothing like 25 year old me who was “skinny” for the first time in her life and was obsessed and consumed with with weighing as little as possible. Please excuse my crazy Monday morning hair! Ive been seeing it mostly on YouTube, a lot of people I follow have been trying the Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee. So when I saw an individual pack at the counter I snagged one. I tried it black and it was a deff no, but its quite pleasant once I added a bit of sweetener. Would I buy a whole package? No, its tastes good to me (with sweetener), but the price doesnt justify it for me right now. Im still working on figuring out maintenance, reintroduction of carbs and bringing my calories up. I want to focus on this with my health coach first. Sweaty, smiling, and feeling relieved that I got through yet another Body Combat class without accidentally turbo kicking a neighbor or driving an upper cut to my lower chin. Fears as to date unrealized, thank God, but when everybody else in class is all street fighter smooth through every kick and punch, and you’re all over the place, predictably off by at least one count and generally flailing about, you consider such things. This is realistic fitness – what mine looks like anyway – as I climb out of a “holiday break” (let’s just call it the majority of the autumn season) that turned into a too long hiatus. Today I felt like I was back at square one, the awkward newbie who can’t quite keep up and instead defaults to lower intensity moves the entire time. But you know what? I WAS THERE. Despite temps too low for my liking thank you very much, and laundry piles higher than my sanity can usually stand, I called bologna on my own excuses and showed up anyway. It felt good. I’ve missed it. Even though it’s once again hard and unfamiliar and will come with mornings of hurting like the dickens while I work to regain strength, I’m so happy to be back at this daily exercise thing. It gives me what mindful eating cannot, and I think/hope makes me a more tolerable human. Yay endorphins! If any arm jiggle should subside in the process, well that’s just bonus.

Keto Jalapeño “Cornbread”  Makes 6 Serving Prep time: 5 Minutes Cook time: 25 minutes Author: @Becoming.Fitastic WHAT YOU NEED: * 1 1/4 cups Almond Flour * 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese * jalapeños, finely diced seeds removed or you can use canned * 1 teaspoons baking powder * 1/4 tsp salt * 2 medium eggs or 1 large * 1/4 cup sour cream * 1/8 cup grass fed butter ( or regular butter), melted. * 20 drops of OOO cornbread flavored oil. (https://www.oooflavors.com) HOW TO DO IT: 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees, grease/butter a baking dish 2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients 3. Pour the batter into baking dish and spread evenly 4. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.  5. Allow to cool then cut into even pieces. Additional variations: If jalapeños are not your taste. You can omit them. I’ve also made this with no cheese added or no jalapeños. Honestly I LOVED it this way! Tasted so much like traditional cornbread. I always stay in the severely reduced aisles. That’s where I find my best treasures for the best deals. I also know that the regular priced items will eventually be apart of those reduced bargain racks. A couple of months ago, I was shopping and had some amazing treasures that I was headed to the dressing room to try on. On the way, I spotted this jumper on the regular priced rack. I immediately thought about my rule, but decided to grab it anyway. I didn’t even look at the price tag because I knew I wouldn’t buy it. I saved it for last to try on and didn’t want to take it off. After spending enough time admiring the outfit, I decided that it was definitely going home with me. Then I realized I hadn’t even looked at the price. OMG!! This outfit tripled my budget that day. It remains the highest priced item, at $50, that I have purchased to date from @halfofhalfclothing. I wore it for the first time today and still think it was well worth the price.
