So proud of myself today!!! Skipped rest day to go for a boxing session and burned over 500 calories. That brings my total active minutes to 102 for the day!!! I pushed myself SO hard tonight. I went faster on the bike; I did so many burpees; I got through before the time was up on all stations and I even beat one of the super fit guys at the ski! 😁💪 Week 3 of Sparta is almost over and tomorrow we have 300 burpees waiting for us 😂

This unforgiving light shows every imperfection that my stomach has. It is also a realistic representation of what most (not all) women look like after carrying and bringing three littles into the world. . . . Y’all!! Let me tell you a little secret about me and chocolate chips (especially the baking kind). If they’re in my vicinity, I WILL snack on them 24/7 (that also includes some middle of the night snacking when I get up for restroom breaks, oops). Luckily these have no added sugar and are just 5g of carbs for approximately 60 chips (I don’t snack on that many ;)). Interesting post from @biolayne on meal frequency and fat loss/gain. I was taught many years ago that high frequency meals would result in better fat loss. Eating 6 or more meals in a day can be more than inconvenient. Kayne discusses further below. RepostBy @biolayne: One of my favorite graphics from my book talking about meal frequency and why it doesn’t make a difference for fat loss and why it’s the overall caloric I take for the day that matters. Sure if you have smaller meals you store less fat at each meal. You also have more meals and less time spent in the post absorptive state. If you eat one ore two big meals yes you will store a lot of fat for several hours, but this balances out by spending a greater amount of the day in the post absorptive period. The net effect is no difference. There is, however benefit to multiple, protein rich meals per day on lean body mass (you can’t make up for low protein at one time of day by drastically over consuming it at other times). So what does all this mean? If your only goal is fat loss and not optimizing lean body mass then literally use whatever meal frequency is easiest for you to stick to. If you are wanting to optimize lean body mass it looks like 3-5 protein containing meals is the sweet spot. But the days of eating 8 meals per day to ‘stoke the metabolic fire’ need to go. There is no evidence to support them unless you just like having no life and carrying a cooler with you everywhere you go because you think that looks cool (don’t forget your parachute pants, ripped flannel shirt, bandana, and fanny pack). Turning 30 was really hard for me (I’m 34 now). I had just lost 60 lbs before getting pregnant with my first son and I although I was so proud of my achievement I truly felt that I had wasted all my youthful years being unhealthy and overweight - years that I could never get back. To me 30 marked the official end of my best years and I could no longer use youth as an excuse for my lack of achievements and weight gain. . . I’ve lost 111 lbs total. I have two beautiful healthy boys and an adoring husband but this isn’t one of those posts where I tell you I was wrong and that it turns out these are the best years. I’m still sad about those years and what I did to my body and I’m sad about the experiences I didn’t have because I couldn’t or refused to. I was right that I cannot get those years back which is why I intend to live the hell out of the time I’ve got now. . . I will say yes to all the adventures! I will wear the bikinis. I will silence the shamers and I will lift up the shamed. Yes to the beaches, yes to the dance floors, yes to the races and the gyms! Yes to the cake and yes to the kale! I know some of us can get easily discouraged when the numbers on the scale does not reduce as much as we want especially when youve been eating healthy and exercising right. REMEMBER THAT THE SCALE IS NOT THE ONLY MEASURE OF SUCCESS. Take a moment to appreciate your NON-SCALE VICTORIES: 1. Daily Activities Are Easier - Are daily chores becoming easier? Do you still feel like you have energy for YOU? If so...grrrreeeeat! This is another sign your body is adapting to the healthier choices. 2. Compliments - Are others noticing the changes in your silhouette? BRING on the compliments!!! The kind words from others noticing your hardwork speak loud and clear. 3. Inches Lost - Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat. Fat also takes up more surface space than muscle. Although the numbers do not suggest you have lost weight but you may be toning and getting leaner. 4. Clothes Dont Lie - When the pair of jeans that once were too snug to fit now fit like a glove means progress has being made. 5. Increased Energy & Better Mood - Reduced fat and increased muscle reduces the level of fatigue your body feels when having to carry extra unhealthy weights around. Feeling better about the positive changes you are making to your body, mind and soul would give anyone a positive energy boost. I added this to my story, but I felt the need to just elaborate a little. . . Determination comes from the mind: thats where everything starts. You looked at yourself and your mind said do it. Your body only follows what your mind tells it to do. If youre feeling lack of motivation, your body is going to feel that. Mind telling you to binge? Guess what... Now youve got that guilt bloat from eating far too much of the wrong things. The point is: what you believe in your mind is whats going to happen. If you believe youre going to lose 50lbs, YOU WILL! Claim it! If you believe you just cant do that workout today or you cant eat that healthy food today, you wont. Dont let your mind hold you back from doing great things. You are capable of anything you allow yourself to do!

This is definitely a more positive post than my last.. I am feeling so great. I woke up, cooked my hubby and I some breakfast and got my workout done right away instead of procrastinating (which I am the queen of). I am constantly reminding myself that you can only worry about the 24 hours ahead of you and make the best out of them instead of focusing on weeks/months. Heres to better days 😊💪✨ . . . When I seen these pictures that were taken of me at a family event my first thought was wow I take up so much room.... You imagine you look one way, then a picture shows you what you really look like especially when its taken by someone else. These were taken 6 days ago and since then Ive worked out once. Havent eaten great but not terrible either. But basically I forgot about goals because to me, I already failed. All my hard work that Ive put in, it seems like I have forgotten about it. I still sometimes tell myself Im meant to be a big girl, that I wouldnt look right smaller. Truth be told: those are just cop outs. Just because I dont want to invest the time in myself to change my circumstances. Im struggling so bad right now with getting myself back on track to becoming a better me. But then I think about why I made this page. For accountability and motivation... So what Im going to use it for.

ONE MONTH APART! Its crazy bow our minds can play games on us because earlier today I was feeling pretty down about my body image. I told my husband to take the pic on the right and the 2nd & 3rd pic just to have as before pictures. But once I looked at them, I thought back to the pic on the left and said to myself theres got to be some difference! When I put them next to each other I was so excited and shocked! 😊 I dont know exactly how many pounds different the two pictures are but I can def. tell that my stomach, arms, and double chin(YAY) have shrunk! . . . Take pictures all the time on this journey guys! Youll be surprised how much your body really has changed.

I have a question mark next to my June weight loss because my scale broke on June 25th and as far as June 24th, my weight was 222.0. I started that month with a weight of 228.4. Its not a huge loss, but its something! I have to keep reminding myself that this is called a journey for a reason and its not a sprint! . . . . **** OVERALL I HAVE LOST 18LBS FROM MY HEAVIEST WEIGHT EVER **** . . As far as a scale goes, I will get a new one soon but I want to challenge myself to stay on track even without a scale for a while! Im thinking about going all July before buying a new one... Ill get back with yall on that lol . . . Dont get discouraged when you scroll on instagram and see that one of the people you follow lost 15lbs one month! Everyones journey is different; we just all have the same goal of getting healthy! 💪

Ever since I was little I have been struggling with my weight. The girls my age were always skinnier than me and I could never wear the things that they wore.
