This is a common statement I get from many patients but unfortunately the mouth doesn’t lie. It pays to really have a good look at your diet and READ all labels. There’s so much added sugars in our foods these days, it’s crazy. Often when questioning parents what they feed their little kids I get similar responses - flavoured yoghurt, fruit, dried fruit, fruit bars, muesli bars and then the occasional treats like biscuits and chocolate. Although we may think we are doing the right thing by providing fruit and yoghurts as healthier snacks, we have to watch those labels and choose brands that have lower added sugars. Too much fruit throughout the day can increase the decay risk. Needed a quick and easy #mealprep option so decided on #homemade chili & jalapeño cheddar cornbread (subbed ingredients to make it dairy free). Delicious and filled full of #healthy ingredients to fuel our bodies for the week ahead.

Green Beans with Fried Onions Ingredients 2 large onions, sliced thinly 2 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp butter 200g green beans Heat a pan on medium heat and melt the butter along with the oil. Add the onions and fry stirring occasionally till golden all over. Scoop the onions out with a slotted spoon. Pour the green beans into the same pan and stir fry for 3 mins or until just tender. sunday dinner situation : Spaghetti (squash) & PLANT BASED MEAT(less) BALLS. I call these PEAballs, but I realize that name may scare you away, but don’t let the less than sexy name deter you, these pea & hemp balls are PACKED with protein, greens, fiber and seeds to help keep you full, aid in digestion, and balance your hormones. All things that I’m always looking for in my eats. for my legume fearing friends : Peas are much lower in phytates & lectins compared to other legumes because they are eaten fresh (not dried, there for not aged), so less likely to disturb your digestion, if you do have sensitivity to beans! I served over my go-to store bought marina sauce by @raoshomemade with the simplest clean ingredients, spaghetti squash and fresh rosemary. Have a happy happy Sunday evening! #behealthywithpri #plantbased #cleaneating - - - Meat(less) PEAballs: 1/2 cup frozen peas, boiled until cooked 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds 2 tbsp sesame seeds 1/4 cup tahini 1/2 zucchini, chopped 1/8 cup hemp powder 1/4 cup flax meal 1/4 cup hazelnut or almond flour 3 tbsp olive oil Sea salt Cumin Turmeric Cayenne (All seasonings to taste) First, in a food processor, blend peas. Add pumpkin & sesame seeds and blend all until creamy or at least fully blended. Add remaining ingredients and blend 1-2 minutes or until a large dough ball starts to form. Transfer to a bowl and form small balls with your hands and arrange on a lightly oiled or lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, flipping half way through. Sure I’ve had some amazing health results from adding in an extra 33 fruits, Veg & Berries everyday for the last 2 years. But it’s all the things you don’t feel is why I never miss a day. You don’t feel the flu you didn’t get... You don’t feel your immune system keeping cancer cells dormant.... You don’t feel not getting cardiovascular disease.... You don’t feel all the polyphenols feeding your good gut bacteria which support your immune system. You don’t feel not getting disease until you have it. Its proven science that fruits & vegetables contain some of the most powerful disease fighting phytochemicals known to man and yet we don’t get enough of these into our daily diet. Why do you think 100 years ago we didn’t have kids getting all these serious illnesses? It’s because we were eating more chemical free fruits & vegetables & less processed food everyday. Not once or twice, everyday. Its the consistency over the long term that matters. So for me it just made sense that I flood my body with a raw high concentrate of 33 varieties everyday twice a day because as much as I try I realised I definitely wasnt getting enough from what I eat.

VEGAN TOFU CHILI 🥣 . Shout out to my mom for giving me this yummy #vegan recipe a few weeks ago when I went home! It’s been my new favorite winter meal. . 🌱Vegan Chili Recipe: (4 servings) . • Step 1️⃣: Cub butternut squash and bake in the over for 30 min @ 400 (sprayed with coconut oil + garlic powder) . • Step 2️⃣: While the squash is cooking sauté 1 diced onion and a block of tofu in a pan with a bit of olive oil (press the water from the tofu before cubing); Sauté for ~7-10min until onions become translucent and tofu gets a bit crispy. . • Step 3️⃣: Add 1 can of dark red kidney beans, 1 can of northern white or pinto beans, and 1 can of diced tomatoes (do not drain the liquid from the beans) • Step 4️⃣: Add 1T of minced garlic and 2T of cumin and chili powder to the pot . • Step 5️⃣: Once the tofu and onion is done and the squash is baked, add them into the pot, stir together and bring the mixture to a boil; turn the heat down to a simmer for 20-30min (w/ top on) . . 🔥MACROS/serving: 350cal CARBS: 48 grams PROTEIN: 26 grams FAT: 6 grams . 👉🏻Tutorial posted on my instagram story/highlights

It may technically be December, but Miami did not get the memo. So I leaned into it and made a summer dish: grilled shrimp over green gazpacho! 🥒 • -RECIPE (adapted from @budgetbytes recipe)- 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice the top off a head of garlic, remove all but one of the layers of paper, and drizzle the exposed cloves with #EVOO. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Once cool remove the cloves and set aside. 2. Remove the ends from two medium cucumbers, cut lengthwise down the middle, scrape out the seeds, and chop into chunks. Remove seeds from one medium green bell pepper and chop into chunks. Peel and dice a medium white onion. Place all the vegetables in a food processor along with 6 cloves of roasted garlic and pulse until finely minced. 3. Add a handful of fresh parsley and fresh cilantro along with two tablespoons of EVOO and one chopped avocado. 4. Add two tablespoons of lemon juice and ½ teaspoon of salt. Cover and chill until ready to serve. 5. Toss shrimp in lots of garlic powder and paprika, a dash of chili powder, and a pinch of salt. Spray some olive oil on a heated skillet and cook shrimp for a few minutes on each side until it turns pink. (For a #vegan/ #vegetarian option use roasted chickpeas with the same seasoning). 6. All I want for Christmas is the best version of me 🎄❤️. Over the past few months I’ve been feeling a bit off. Life has been very busy, I’ve been juggling a lot and I’ve been feeling quite stressed out 🙈. Why am I sharing this with you?
