Because it was nap time. It doesn’t take much space and it doesn’t take much time, to just move your body! One of my favorite moves : the jump squat. Never thought I would be a big fan of at home workouts but life has made it that way. Some days the gym is not an option so having basic workout stuff at home helps.... 💪🏾🏃🏾‍♀️🏋🏾‍♀️

This girl was able to run on the treadmill today 😍🙌🏼. It’s been 27 days of not running for me. It wouldn’t be such a bad thing if my mental state remained normal while not exercising. I’ve had a few anxiety attacks, feelings of depression and feeling blah. But today that all gets to change. They told me last week I could start running again but I wasn’t ready. Ive been trying to walk on the treadmill a couple times a week. And I still was feeling pretty sore. But the last few days have been better. So I decided to try running. I ran for 2 minutes at 5.0 mph and walked for 2 minutes at 3.0 mph for 1 mile. Then I walked a mile. Then I repeated the 2 minute run/walk. I felt good. I feel super out of shape but that’s to be expected. Excited to slowly get back into my normal routine 🥰.

Guys, less than 20 weeks until Marathon #1 for 2019. Twenty weeks feels like an eternity in pregnancy, but in marathon training it doesn’t seem like enough time - or at least not to me right now. I’m kicking up the training a bit this week, with longer mid-week runs and a slightly longer long run this weekend. Some speed intervals today: ~200m fast/200m rest x 10. This mama is tired! See them bags?! After some haggard sleep the last two nights and a good leg workout yesterday I am definitely feeling less pep in my step today. Best way to re-energize? Welcome all the tips!

I have spent the last two weeks so sick I could barely get off the couch. Two doctors visits later and I finally started to feel human a few days ago. As if being sick isn’t bad enough I felt even more awful because I had just re-started my running journey and I was doing so well!! So today I woke up feeling pretty good and decided to try and run. I had no distance, pace or other goal. I turned off pace notifications and didn’t look at my watch once. I just took in the sights and sounds of my neighborhood and reveled in the fact that today I could run. For the life of me, I cannot take good pictures in my workout room- so you get a black and white version today. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Yep- still no tracks that aren’t snow and ice covered here. This workout was a big thumbs down 👎 overall, but I’m choosing to see some good in it. . Woke up feeling exhausted 😩, didn’t want to do what was on the plan- and took forever to get started. I had to stop twice to rest and complain that these paces are too hard, and I ended slightly decreasing the speed so I could finish the workout, but I did it. . As my wife told me, you’re not a quitter. She’s right, and I hope that fighting through when you don’t feel your best will pay off come race day. . Speed repeats: 2 miles up 16 x 400m at 1:29 avg (5:56 avg) with 200 m jog recovery (about 1 minute) 2 miles down . Somebody tell me this gets more comfortable at some point. Coach decided I was taking an impromptu rest day. I’m ok w/ this bc when you work on a global schedule, things can be hard. & marathon training requires lots of rest & active rest days to be successful! I did get up & out this morning. Felt okay for first two miles, but bang on 4km calf’s tightened. Back was a little achy at the start but that wore off. I am a little over sensitive to calf pain. So walked home rather than completing 5km. Perhaps to be expected after Sunday. Two run in three days though, not bad considering recent lack of exercise. I’ll see how I feel Thursday, but most likely not run again until Saturday. Time is flying by. 🎄 I managed today to get my run and Christmas Challenge in early. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ My run was 40 minutes @ 7:04 min/mile pace. It was hard! I really wanted to quit but I just broke up the 40 minutes into 5 minute thoughts. Before I knew it I hit 40 minutes and it was time to cool down. . . Today no filters on my pictures. My run picture was taken immediately after and I was sweating like a pig. Lol. If swipe to 2nd picture that is shortly afterwards when I did my Christmas Challenge workout. I am laughing to my son trying to tell him that in theory it seemed like a great idea to run first but that challenge seemed so much harder after today’s run 😂😂😂 Several people have asked if I have a race for next year. I don’t. When things settle down I want to target a race. Anyone have suggestions? RSD 1,475 & 1,474: a pair of evening treadmill miles the past two days following real-life marathons. Counting it all joy... it was all worth it. Observe today the Tiffany donned in long pants and long sleeves for indoor running. I packed my bags for a daytime outside run, but one step outside around 4pm and I concluded that I’d take my shenanigans to the treadmill when I got back to Charm City. I dunno when I became such a wimp about winter weather, but I am just not ready for it yet!
