This movement used to be all resistance and terror in my body. Lately Ive been practicing Courage, which physically looks like this. ° On courage @brenebrown says: Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor - the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant To speak ones mind by telling all ones heart. Over time, this definition has changed, and today, we typically associate courage with heroic and brave deeds. But in my opinion, this definition fails to recognize the inner strength and level of commitment required for us to actually speak honestly and openly about who we are and about our experiences -- good and bad. Today in VeMix class Yuko instructed me to try a tripod stand ( which I had never done before). While in class I COULD NOT get my knees to float up. She assisted me by holding one of my legs up while I attempted to raise the other. With that being said, fact that I’m able to get them up on my own is incredible! My next step is to straighten everything up. I am beyond excited with where my practice is heading. | YOGA 💗 I think of yoga as a three branched tree. One branch being the physical workout/flexibility you gain. Another being the mental, and meditative mind/body/breath connection you exercise. And the last one being a way of life. 1: I do yoga, to get and keep my body healthy, strong and flexible. 2: I do yoga, because it strenghtens my connection with myself. During class I get to be egoistic and only think about me and how my body/mind/breath is today. 3: I transfer the two above to my “normal life”. So - Remembering to keep and engaged core, while lifting. Doing stretches, while at work if I feel stiff. Breathing heavy if I feel sad or down. Remember to feel how I am during the day, which enebærs me to take better choices. In specific types of yoga, they have many more - and more defined - branches. But for me, these three are the ones I care about. What works for you? #yoga #mindbodybreath

theres something more important than scoring A grades, being good at something, having a lot of friends, owning a lot of stuff, working at famous companies, or starting your own business. im not saying that money, reputation, and power are not important. they are, but at what expense? would you work day and night for those rupees only to become a millionaire with an anxiety disorder? would you like to be known as the topper but have zero working experience because you sacrificed job opportunities for grades? would you wear all the branded clothes in the world only to eat instant noodles for dinner? . but gauri, they say that if you want to gain something, you have to lose something. youre right, beautiful, but WHAT is that something? your essence? your peace of mind? happiness? YOUR F*CKING SANITY? . whatever you do, dont let it take away YOU. and only YOU know what YOU means so i wont explain that. trade your blood, sweat, tears for all that you want to have or become. but please dont trade YOU for a YOU that is unhappy. . i see many people doing that mistake, having done it myself. but no matter how tempting, this mistake is only temporary, unless you use drugs to shut your soul up which is exactly what most celebs do. i feel really sorry for them. . the truth is, we all love ourselves but sometimes we love our outer gains more than our inner gains. and thats what f*cks us up because inner gains are difficult to notice and hence, difficult to appreciate. but you know what? theyre easier to FEEL. learning to hold a new instrument feels 10x better than flaunting a bacardi on snapchat, doesnt it? . back to the point, theres something more important than what just SEEMS important. and that something is YOU, your essence, your peace of mind, your happiness, your sanity. you need to prioritize all that over and over again. i love you. 🙌🏼❤️ #growwithgauri . asana: #heronpose/ #krounchasana

Training with kettlebells is not designed to increase muscle mass but rather to build strength by increasing the amount of lean muscle tissue. Increasing lean muscle tissue results in strength without bulk and a lean-looking appearance. Kettlebells are effective at increasing strength by using full-body functional movements that incorporate several muscle groups for each exercise. An example of a strength workout combines kettlebell swings, front squats and reverse lunges. Perform 10 repetitions of swings, followed immediately by 10 front squats and then 10 reverse lunges.
